    defunct

Court is super busy. When all of this started, he was very active on the forum. I appreciate that he maintains and improves this forum, and has paid staff (not me--I'm a volunteer and don't want to be paid staff), so the forum is moderated, which makes it a nice place to be. Maybe Court will, at...

Bike technicien? Does everyone go by ?

There's never a better time than the present to learn new skills! I got a stand so I could work on my bike, but it's too heavy for me to get onto the stand. Ooops. Off to my local mechanic. Fortunately, we have a neighborhood bike tech who works out of his garage and makes it very easy to get...

I hope it wasn't too expensive!

Thoughts on Ride1Up and Similar eBikes

So glad that it fit him! Whew! That's the big risk in buying something you haven't been able to test-ride!

Wife and I need help choosing from 3 options..

How will you know if the bike is reliable? If reliability is important to you, I'd suggest looking at the history of the company and how long it stocks parts for various models. How many years do you hope to ride your bike? You will need the bike company to keep stocking parts for all of those...

How does Ride1Up Produce Better Ebikes with less cost and effort than established rivals (eg Juiced)?

What I wonder is why some of these Japanese companies haven't been more active in trying to sell some of their awesome models here in the US???

    Latch 4000 mile update

That's great to hear. We have a latch as our "guest" ebike. It isn't heavily used, but I'm glad to hear your happy story! Our high miles Pedegos are my Interceptor (4,000 miles) and my H's City Commuter (6,000 miles!)

    Moisture in display

Pedego has replaced my problem displays, no questions asked. I think if you ask, they will probably send you a new one, on them. I had a display with a bad seal also--no problem with rain (yet), but the seal would lift off. They sent me a new display.

    Kudos To Pedego!

Yippeeee! I've also found kindness beyond the warranty period. And I've also experienced getting parts that I damaged--I fell and broke the display. They sent me another one without charge, even though that's normal wear-and-tear, for sure!

    Short person bike

My 4'11" daughter has a 24" Pedego Interceptor. She needed the "City Commuter" handlebars with the adjustable stem to fit the bike properly to her. :)

Pedego launches its lowest-priced electric bicycle

We have four Pedegos. Mine is on its third display, all provided no-questions-asked by Pedego. It's easy to swap out. The other three all have their original displays. Mine had unintended accelleration (just fixed by the recall, which resulted in cheerful and prompt fixes of all four bikes for...

Pedego launches its lowest-priced electric bicycle

I was interested to see that they also have a budget-priced City Commuter model--one color, fewer amp hours on the battery, lower wattage hub drive. And this new ebike might be, shall I say it, a gateway drug? Cheaper, easier to become a Pedego customer, and, once happy, a repeat customer? I...

    Pedego PAS explanation

I have not found any motor drag at all on our bikes. But, the bike is quite heavy, and it sure feels like drag! The drag is all of that weight of bike+rider. (And most of that is me!!!). On the PAS system: I find it intuitive and comfortable. That said, I have not tried other ebikes. I also...

    Pedego Factory Recall

Of our four affected Pedegos, one had the problem (mine), and in 4,000 miles of riding, it happened maybe 20 times? And, the acceleration was not super fast--easy for me to hit the brake, which always stops electric assist. I did take my bike back to the dealer to have it checked out a few...

    The Joys of MS...

I have a Pedego, and many Pedego ebike models have throttles. In fact, I learned from the CEO when we visited Pedego (my autistic son is a HUGE fan, so we went to that area for a vacation when it was cold where we live!) that they actively advocated (as in hiring lobbyists) for the US ebike...

    Deaf Riders

I'm really happy for you that you found ebiking! I don't personally know other hearing impaired ebikers, but posting here is a good way to show the diversity of ebikers and hopefully find some others who share your experiences. On the wind noise--I have these contraptions that attach to my...

    Pedego Factory Recall

"stop using the product immediately" relates to product liability, not to how common the accelleration is in affected bikes. To sign up for the recall, you tick a box that says you will not ride the bike till it is fixed. We did keep riding our bikes. But, it was clear to me that if we had a...

    Pedego Factory Recall

We just had our four Pedegos in for the recall repair. Easy peasy. I admire the company for doing a public recall and not a "silent" recall, which is what most companies do. It's expensive to do a recall. It's the right thing to do. Just like with my Toyotas, the recalls show me that this is a...

    Pedego Factory Recall

I just checked the connectors our four bikes. Mine, that has the same problem, has the Julet connector. The other three have the other recalled connector type. Amy

    Pedego Factory Recall

You installed your new wiring harness yourself?? Wow! I'm curious--what part of the bike did that include? I'm assuming the connectors were unchanged in that process? As I said, my bike did get a harness replacement... (but it didn't fix the problem).
