Had a fall roday. Bur a good day for a hub drive

A mid-drive with a throttle requires a functional chain to propel the bike. A hub drive with a throttle does not.

My First DIY - Gravel Bike w/TSDZ2

That was suggested to me by EcoCycles, too, but the flange on my Redwood was too wide to get the cover back on properly. Luckily there was no welding in the way of me hammering the flange to conform. Your bike's flange doesn't look quite as wide as mine, but you do have cables and a screw...

My First DIY - Gravel Bike w/TSDZ2

Assuming you're referring to my OP bike, the front fender's a typical face-saver mudguard. The rear is Zefal's Deflector FM-30. I doubt it - and it's not just the cabling. It appears that the downtube attaches to the bottom bracket shell with a protruding lip that allows room for the cables...

Ha, learn something new. I've never bought a cassette that came with a hanger extension!

    What is high milaage?

"High mileage" is both a subjective and objective term. I've been writing a used ebike buyer's guide - here's an adapted excerpt: I've gone through dozens of ebikes and put tens of thousands of miles on them in the past 6 years, and bought/sold a few used ones along the way (I haven't had to...

    front chainrings

Unless it's the trekking version of the Acera derailleur, which seems more likely given the style of bike. That has a limit of 34T: https://bike.shimano.com/en-US/product/component/acera-t3000/RD-T3000.html

    front chainrings

I believe that the Acera rear derailleur stocked on that bike has a low-sprocket range of 32-36T, at least according to the Shimano website: https://bike.shimano.com/en-US/product/component/acera-m3000/RD-M3000.html So if you go with a 46T-max 8-speed cassette, you'll also need a new long-cage...

Chain popping on Bulls Six50 E2 Street

The OEM front sprocket on many Bosch Gen2-equipped bikes is one piece with the guard, so I you may need to add a guard to the SRAM chainring. Fooferdoggie found Miranda's separate guard available on Amazon - I couldn't find one back in June!

Chain popping on Bulls Six50 E2 Street

Is that a Miranda chain guard? Whatever it is, any chance you remember where you got it and for how much?

My TSDZ2 casing broke. Are shell replacements worth it or should I consider other options?

A friend of mine burned up his hub motor riding up a long hill. Much less likely to happen with a mid-drive...

Chain popping on Bulls Six50 E2 Street

Just occurred to me that a friend of mine bought my 2015 Haibike with the same 15t sprocket as yours (including chain guard), but he seldom cleaned and never changed his chain for over 1k miles. This wore down the teeth of his sprocket, and it didn't work well with a new chain when he needed...

Chain popping on Bulls Six50 E2 Street

I'd try a new chainring next, but if you go with OEM, it could be expensive and take quite awhile to obtain - this may be why your dealer didn't do so. The motor that came with that bike - Bosch's CX Gen2 - used a 15T sprocket that turns 2.5 times with each pedal stroke, but the OEM version can...

Experiences with Aventon customer service and support?

For those of you still trying to get a response (or parts etc.) from Aventon, write a review on the BBB site. The company seems to pay attention to them, and has responded to each review thus far...

My First DIY - Gravel Bike w/TSDZ2

I went with 48V 500W with the SW102 mini display, no throttle or brake sensor. When I bought it, EcoCycles had ample battery supply - I went with their 14Ah offering. Yeah, it's heavy, but at some point I'll probably take this for a nice long bikepack trek... I'm super pleased overall after...

    Trail App?

I like GaiaGPS, too - I can show many tracks on one map! You may be able to tell that I live near the Holyoke Range 😄

    Trail App?

For finding and navigating "real" MTB trails with my phone, I'm partial to Trailforks (link to website version of their map). In my experience - albeit mostly in my region (New England) - the app is easy to learn and use, and trail systems are accurately laid out. Its GPS tracking works well on...

My First DIY - Gravel Bike w/TSDZ2

Thanks, it's fun to ride. I can't say either stem is significantly better than the other, though I prefer Kinekt's spring system for absorbing faster vibrations (like gravel creates). I also ended up swapping the seat post for Kinekt's BodyFloat for the same reason.

    Peddle, or pedal?

Just thought I'd revive this thread - I'm seeing way too much peddling of petals without proper pedaling again here 🤣
