Raising the handlebar on a '19 Vado 3.0

I found some bars that might work for you guys:

Have you ridden a Vado with no pedal assist?

I ride 12-15 miles with no power sometimes when I ride with my girlfriend on her unpowered mountain bike. It’s not bad. My Haibike FullSeven with 3” tires and Bosch is another story. On a ride in the preserve last weekend I did 7 miles in with no power, and it’s a freakin beast! I snuck in some...

    I hate fenders...

I took the rear off and left the front, but I did remove that mudflap on the bottom of it.

2020 Vado 5.0 SR Suntour NCX E25 Front Fork Adjustment

I cranked my preload all the way + by hand today. I actually thought I had it all the way there but I didn’t. It’s an improvement. The rebound knob seems to spin endlessly... 🤔

Fork upgrade for 2020 Turbo Vado 5

Well that’s significantly cheaper than the Mobie. I don’t know anything about RST. FYI, anyone can submit questions to Specialized Support. I need to find the link again.

    Catastrophic blowout, new lessons learned

I'm certainly not going to crusade against tubeless. I posted this because though I've had many flats in my lifetime I have never blown a tire completely off the rim. So on this bike, with these rims, after that explosion, I'm more comfortable now with the ebike 50 Contis and tubes (though it...

What Do You Do During The Lockdown?

You know, I've never really thought about that. After being in FL for 11 years. I miss the mountains, hiking and rocks, so you'd think I would have noticed. Well I can tell you after mountain biking here that what's missing in rocks is made up for in ROOTS!

    Catastrophic blowout, new lessons learned

I think tubeless makes more sense for mountain bikes where being able to ride with very low tire pressures is an advantage. I like the idea of fewer flats on a road bike, but I definitely have trust issues after this. Mounting new tires with tubes momentarily...

Opinions on good fitting ebike for people 6'3" to 6'6" ?

You should be okay on that out of the box. Upright geometry with conservative stem, bars high above the saddle. Bigger and taller is not always the answer though, I had an unpowered XXL Specialized MTB that was too long for me. I think Juiced makes their Fat in XXL, might be a consideration too...

What Do You Do During The Lockdown?

This is true. Some of the communities in St. Pete, like Isle of Palms in Treasure Island, were built into the bay in the ‘50s and 60’s (like what you see now in United Arab Emerites but on a much smaller scale) and were originally “paved“ with crushed shells.

    Catastrophic blowout, new lessons learned

Ya, Gravel Kings I made sure to order tubeless. The rim was 2020 Vado 5 spec, rim tape was specified and installed by my Specialized dealer, and the sealant was Orange Seal. As I mentioned I had ridden 600 miles on this setup, at up to 30MPH, before the blowout. Perhaps it was just too much air...

    Catastrophic blowout, new lessons learned

Maybe it's that I had more air in them than usual because I just got a Topeak digital gauge and found that my pump was reading ridiculously high. This was probably the first ride with 50 lbs. I did 600 miles on them and they were still holding air, and I have been up to 30MPH on the bike...

    Catastrophic blowout, new lessons learned

"Good thing it wasn't the front" That's the mechanic said 😆 I didn't really get into it with him, they were busy and he did a service on the bike and trued the rear wheel for me no charge while I waited. I'm not 100% sure what the issue was. The rims on the Vado don't come tubeless-ready...

    Catastrophic blowout, new lessons learned

Edit: I actually ordered the Continental Top Contact II tires which were a better deal. E-Plus or Electrak Armadillo would work as well.

    Catastrophic blowout, new lessons learned

I think the lesson here is don't mount a non ebike 50 rated tire tubeless on a Class 3 bike. Possibly not even with tubes... I was going about 24MPH when I heard a shotgun blast followed by the sound of my bare rim scraping the pavement. Blew the tire right off the rim, with sealant...

Riding No Handed Over 50 or 60

The only ebike crash I've had was riding no hands on a Juiced CCS (2 years ago when I was 50). I was going about 18MPH and hit a small bump. As I reached down to put my hands back on the bars, my saddle spun to the right, the grips moved, and my hands missed them. I was thrown backwards...

How to adjust Suntour NCX E25 fork

The fork is coil, and there are no springs available. I’ve already been through it with Specialized. I have a thread on here about upgrading it.

What Do You Do During The Lockdown?

I‘m lucky to have a 25,000 acre preserve 35 minutes away that’s still open. 9 miles of single-track, 65 miles of double-track and 25 miles of shell roads. I get out in the middle of that and there isn’t a person within miles.

Opinions on good fitting ebike for people 6'3" to 6'6" ?

I’m 6’4”, started with a Juiced CCS, then a Haibike eMTB. Now I have a Vado and a new (2019] Haibike. All worked very well once I had the stems and bars dialed in.
