    eMTB Options For 2024

Very interesting thread so far. Great collection of opinions, thoughts and experiences. Will be very interested to hear your emtn biking thoughts in a year. Usually much different than what you expected!! I would think a little grey, rainy weather in SoCal would be welcome every once in a while...

2020 Turbo Vado - Early Impressions!

I would get the bike to a dealer for them to look into it. Maybe check torque settings on motor mount bolts.

    Question about Torque Wrenches

The Lezyne is a good one and comes with a useable assortment of bits. Been tested to be pretty accurate. If it's not accurate, no point in using it. Great at preventing over-torquing whether your working with carbon or aluminum. Silca makes great stuff too. Back in the 70's when working on...

    Vado 5 off road

As long as your careful with potholes and other obstacles, and keep your speed in check you should be ok. I have the same bike. I am in the process of building a set of 27.5 wheels with 2.4 SuperMoto tires to help with offroad bump absorption on our adventures. The fork on the Levo HT is a more...

    Specialized Levo battery fault

I would take it to the dealer to determine course of action. Might just require an update.?

Specialized ROLL Hub Conversion - Q&A

    Question about Torque Wrenches

Some bikes I have worked on require some really, really small torque settings. You can get a wrench that will measure it, but unless your using it a lot, it's hard to justify the expense of a good wrench you will see very rarely. I try to tweak those one by hand. But the common ones on a lot of...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

Make sure to also order the screws to attach the cover to the spare battery.

Fitting an Sram derailleur to a Vado 4

I have done the conversion on 2 Norco fat bikes (external routing) and a carbon Stumpjumper (internal routing). You might get lucky on the Vado and have enough casing to get away with just replacing the inner cable. It can be done.....

Overstock on BH Easymotion Bikes over 50% off on some models

I like my KMC chains. Rumour has it that KMC was making some chains for Shimano??

    Don’t buy a specialised Levo

One of my few regrets in life, not studying a second language. Although I did start piano lessons at 40, and now at 58 continue with them. Kind of a second language. Your right Stefan, the hysterical titles are a bit disturbing at times. I have purchased a 2020 Vado 5.0.

    Don’t buy a specialised Levo

I believe the cracking frame issue was motor mount bolts coming from original assembly under torqued. And this production issue was found and corrected. As soon as they were aware of it Specialized took corrective action and from what I have read in these forums and witnessed in person...

2020 Cannondale Synapse Neo 1First Impression

So nice to hear people enjoying their bikes. E-bikes are the great equalizer! As far as shipping bikes/batteries. ....only one that is easily carried onto an airplane at this time seems to be the new SL batteries from Specialized found in the Creo and SL Levo. You have to remove the internal...

Put down a deposit on a Creo E5

Congrats Captain Slow....wickedly good bike. The battery in the Creo is purposely sized so it goes in your carry-on luggage for those who want the option to travel with their bike.

Bicycling Magazine Reveals It's Top E bike Picks For 2020

Publishers these days are no different than many other profession....bankers, politicians. There are a few great ones out there, but sometimes you have to read between the lines to get to the truth.

    New Specialized Levo SL

SL rides like a real Mtn bike. Felt like a normal bike, with a nudge of assist. I always found on the Levo I was 95% of the time in level 1 assist and that level 3 was too much. If you just want or need to sit back and be taken along for the ride, buy a Levo -still the smoothest, quietest, e Mtn...

Overstock on BH Easymotion Bikes over 50% off on some models

Was at our local Giant store on Saturday. No ebikes in stock, which at this time of year might make sense with all the snow outside. Though I sure if you put up the money they would be happy to bring it in for you:)

Overstock on BH Easymotion Bikes over 50% off on some models

Specialized is Lifetime on the frame, 2 years on the Battery and Motor is 2 years or 15000 km on belt.

Overstock on BH Easymotion Bikes over 50% off on some models

My Yamaha motorbikes in the 70's were ok. But so were Bimmer, Kawi, Honda & Suzuki. Learned from a Benelli mini bike to leave boutique brands for others with more patience and $$ than I :) Just tried looking up Yamaha equipped ebikes here in Ontario Canada and they seem hard to find. One dealer...

Do ebikes need more than 5 speeds?

My last bike was equipped with a Shimano motor and 11speed IGH with electronic shifting. Worked fine on the flats but not so good at picking appropriate gear/cadence on hills, which I have plenty of in my 12km commute. And it was clunky. Fortunately you could also electric shift manually. Great...
