    Who's naked bike riding?

Doesn't this just increase the distracted driver problem??

I have worked on a few for friends, but mostly for fun. The general public wouldn't be able to find me, since I live in the middle of nowhere. Also, many makes are difficult to work on due to their proprietary nature. Bosch systems in particular. Special tools & equipment are necessary.

I worked part time as a bike mechanic and am a retired electrical engineer, so I'm able to do all my own work. I'm hours away from the nearest LBS that works on e-bikes, so it's a bit of a necessity. The trick is to get a bike you can cobble on, without a bunch of proprietary crap.

    Mid-drive by Dewalt

No drill, but I do use DeWalt batteries to power my bike. There's even enough room for a water bottle cage:

    Lectric Elite headlight

If you have a spot where you can access the wiring harness, you could add a USB adapter, such as this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C8S7WSH7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Lectric Elite headlight

I'm also a fan of aux. handlebar mounted lights. If you go that route, consider one with an internal battery that will recharge via the USB port on the bike. In addition to being able to switch between bikes, these removeable lights can double as a flashlight should you have a breakdown at...

    New here.

More information is needed to effectively diagnose your problem, but the most obvious is a battery / charger defect. How old is the battery? Will it hold a charge for any length of time while off the bike? Was the bike working at all before you swapped the controller? There may also be a...

When cycling, do you like listening to music?

I use a Sena helmet with built in speakers, and Cat-Ears wind noise suppressors. The helmet has a built in intercom & FM radio, and pairs with my smartphone for music but I rarely listen. I'd rather focus on the enjoyment of cycling and the surrounding scenery.

ISO e-bike with a saddle height of 28" or less and a throttle

I hate to recommend bikes & accessories, since every rider has different requirements. FWIW, my 5'1" wife has many of the same issues as yours. After test riding many bikes, we settled on the Pedego Platinum Interceptor...

Hub- vs. mid-drive for e-gravel/road bikes

As others have said, when it comes to frequent steep hill climbing, a mid drive is the way to go. My only issue with mid drives is, the selection of bikes with a throttle is much more limited than hub drives. For health reasons, a throttle is a must for me.

Saddle pressure, numbness, and maintaining sexual health at 59

Yes. A suspension post is a game changer for me on my 50+ mile rides.

    I don't think so...

Almost as much fun as taking out carpenter bees with a badminton racquet. 😊

Can I get advice in plain easy to understand English please

Since I'm not a Bafang user, this probably won't help but FWIW, I have 3 identical bikes with Dapu motor / controllers. The actual assist levels for each PAS setting do not match on any of them. The bike maker says this is a controller program setting which only a dealer can adjust. Rather...

Saddle pressure, numbness, and maintaining sexual health at 59

Interesting yes, but it can't be used with a suspension seat post. That's a deal breaker for me anyway.

I had planned a ride today but changed my mind when I went out to load up the bike. o_O

    (2) standard (OEM) batteries or (1) long range battery

My philosophy with any bike is to get the biggest battery available. Even if you don't need it on all your rides, it's a hedge against capacity loss as the battery ages.

Wire Organizing- What Do You Use?

My bikes have the brake and shifter cables routed inside the down & cross tubes. The holes have grommets to protect the cables from chafing where they exit the tubes. They are located so as to not to affect the structural integrity of the frame. I used one of the cables as a "snake" to pull a...

Ah, so THAT'S what's holding me back!

Just use an e-bike. Problem solved. ;)
