New to the E bike forum

Welcome aboard! I'm in eastern PA and get out your way several times a year to ride the GAP trail, one of the best, east of the Mississippi.

    Battery fuse holder replacement

In addition to the 5A current rating, make sure the fuse / holder you use is rated for the battery voltage as well. Most automotive type fuses are only rated for voltages up to 32V. Higher voltages can cause an arc, even if the fuse is blown.

Pennsylvania Rides | Meetups | Pennsylvania Riders

Just a few notes to this old thread on some popular PA trails that may be of interest. The Pine Creek Trail in north central PA is closed between Darling Run and Tiadaghton due to washouts & flooding. There is also a closure between Waterville and Whitetail due to a landslide. Work is...

    Wilderness.org e-bikes on federal land

It's important to note that NP park superintendents have the right to regulate which class bikes are allowed on any specific trail. It's been my personal experience that these superintendents have their own personal opinions. As they move from one park to another, the trail restrictions vary...

    Well-controlled tire pressure experiment

Interesting experiment, but I can see where this would be more important for conventionals, rather than e-bikes. The motor compensates for the higher rolling resistance. Sure, you may loose some range but how many of us end a ride with a fully exhausted battery? If in doubt, carry a spare...

    Some bicycle travel tips

In room charging also bothers me in hotels. I travel all over the eastern US riding trails, and I do it a lot. Unless it's specifically prohibited, I use a don't ask, don't tell policy. Here are a couple of my tips: I use fanless chargers, specifically, Grin Satiators and try to do it during...

    Cycling Classic Helmet Visor Brim

I'm often bothered by side sun glare during early morning & late evening rides. I can see where this visor would help. It would also keep the sun off your ear tips as well. It wouldn't work with my helmet mounted mirror though.

    Is it the battery ?

Possible, but unlikely with a 2.5 year-old battery. Unless it was mistreated, these symptoms would occur gradually, not suddenly.

    Is it the battery ?

You might also check for a loose or dirty contact on your charger plug. The next time you charge the battery, manipulate the connector to see if you can duplicate the red/green light condition. If so, you may need to replace the charger connector and/or cord. Hopefully, it isn't a bad...

    Is it the battery ?

Check & clean the connectors on both the bike & battery. A dirty or burned contact can cause the symptoms you describe. A fouled contact adds resistance and creates a momentary voltage drop which can cause the controller to cut out.

    Ebike I want to pedal

I didn't say ALL e-bikes could be pedaled like a conventional model. My wife and I do it on our Pedego's. With minimum PAS to overcome the added weight, they feel very similar to our conventional Trek MTB's. Results of course, will vary with the bike & rider. The trick to getting exercise on...

After a month of riding ...

This simple trick works on some bikes I've played around with but not all. Some have a setting on the display for wheel size. I found if I set it to the smallest size, I can get some extra speed. The down side is, the speedometer and odometer are no longer accurate. If your bike has such a...

What Rack To Carry Second Rambo Krusader Battery?

I carry my spare batteries in a pannier, such as this one: https://arkel.ca/collections/bike-panniers/products/gt-18bp-convertible-backpack-pannier This keeps the center of gravity lower and the pannier can be padded with extra clothing for protection. This particular pannier is also...

    Is Any E-Bike With A Throttle A Type 2 E-Bike?

The joke is, I ride my class 2 throttled bike in a safer, less obtrusive manner than many class 1 and class 3 bikes I see. The class system is meaningless to the general public, and many law enforcement agencies as well. Unfortunately, any idiot can make an a$$ out of themselves on ANY class bike.

Trunk Bag for 2022 Turbo Vado

I'm not sure how @Decho did it, and perhaps his way is better, but this is the way I did mine. I took out the yellow liner from the Topeak bag and removed the 4 screws that attached the MTX Quick Track adapter. I attached the MIK adapter plate to a piece of plastic, cut to fit the bottom of...

    Who's naked bike riding?

You can, but it makes the seat slippery. This guy tried it and slid off. Now he's trying to catch up with his bike!

I passed this on the GAP trail near Markleton earlier this week: Not sure what it is, but it's an attention getter.

How do you all use your E-BIKES? Do you go out riding with friends or do you enjoy the experience on your own?

Both. I ride with a group when one is available but mostly solo. I'm a "hypermiler" and enjoy 50+ mile rides. My longest so far is 92 in a 7 hour time frame. Most others I ride with can't keep up.
