    New SL 1.2 motor revealed

I’m in when the Vado SL gets the 1.2! I’m guessing 2024 though. :(

    Vado (SL), Gazelle, Oh My..

Good to know, thanks! Yep, I have the battery cover on hand, just waiting to prove to myself I'll actually use the spare battery for spending the $1,000 on it. :) Glad to know I should be able to use 35 miles as the "safe" distance mark for full assist. We're pretty flat around here in the...

    Vado (SL), Gazelle, Oh My..

Finally got the Gazelle early in the week and have put about 30 miles on it. The upgraded Nyon (MY21) is exactly what I had wanted as far as a computer, so very glad I did that upgrade. Apparently it is not an easy retrofit, took the shop 6 hours, but since I negotiated the installation in as...

A quick ride review of the Vado SL 4.0

I think we had the same experience with the SL being a "goal" bike. My challenge with the Vado SL is that it's fitness first. Right now I want to get exercise through biking, not bike for exercise, if that makes sense. I love the Vado SL to death and cannot wait to get one, but I also cannot...

    Gazelle Ultimate C380 HMB (2023)?

No problem.. and glad to hear it, because that's the one I ordered.. o_O 🤣

    Gazelle Ultimate C380 HMB (2023)?

Which bike? This should work, no? https://propelbikes.com/product/gazelle-battery-cover-powertube-tna/

    Gazelle Ultimate C380 HMB (2023)?

Will happily provide initial feedback on the + version in about a week. :) Seems to have lost the suspension seat post and front "stem" suspension in favor of the Sun Tour fork. Rear rack looks different as well (I don't see the built-in bungee cord thing). Kiox is definitely a nice upgrade...

    Vado (SL), Gazelle, Oh My..

Thanks for sharing the info, and for your huge thread. I actually read all of it before making a decision. I agree with you, in my research, I didn't hear any complaints on the manual IGH setup. I've not heard of any consistent complaints on the manual Enviolo setup and any Bosch motor...

    Vado (SL), Gazelle, Oh My..

Glad to hear that! I had been going back and forth on the extra battery.. I feel like I'll need it eventually, but was going to delay the purchase a while. Perhaps it makes sense to just get it now and have it, rather than wait it out and get into scenarios where I might run out of battery or...

    Vado (SL), Gazelle, Oh My..

Thanks for the info! I had planned on buying an extra 500Wh battery, but will wait until I have some longer rides in to evaluate how often that is needed. Will keep an eye out for specials on the battery! I believe this model comes with the 4A charger.

    Vado (SL), Gazelle, Oh My..

Thank you for all of the thoughts and feedback! Had this been my first exposure to bike data, I think you probably would be right with respect to the Mastermind TCD/U vs Purion display. However, I spent a good 5-6 months using only the Wahoo Roam (V1), a heart monitor strap and cadence sensor...

    Vado (SL), Gazelle, Oh My..

Thank you! I'm looking at upgrading to the Nyon display for that reason (among others), but this is not a deal-breaker for me. I have a dedicated cadence sensor, etc.. on the road bike, and that would be the primary "fitness" bike when I want it. The gazelle is more about enjoying the ride...

    Vado (SL), Gazelle, Oh My..

Thanks for sharing that info! Having done a number of test rides, including the Turbo Como this afternoon, I agree with everything you've said. The Gazelle is more comfortable (subjective for sure) out of the gate, though the seat they have on it (Selle Royal) is a dream compared to whatever is...

Hitch bike rack - Gazelle Ultimate C8/C380

Just adding for future reference, but I use a RockyMounts Backstage Swing Away which doesn't use a cross-bar aprpoach for the bikes.. It has the tire "clamp" and then wheel straps. Haven't purchased the C380+ yet (getting close) but I use it with a fat tire e-bike that was 80+ lbs and it's fine...

    Vado (SL), Gazelle, Oh My..

I loved the SL for that very reason. I have a feeling I'll end up with both.. perhaps make getting the SL a reward for X number of miles on the C380+..

    Vado (SL), Gazelle, Oh My..

Well, test rode the 4.0 SL and the 4.0 EQ as that's what the local Specialized place had in stock. I was really torn. The SL was awesome, so light and nimble.. but lacked the power I wanted, and felt stressed and had to push myself just to keep up with the demo guy I was riding with (and he was...

    Vado (SL), Gazelle, Oh My..

Thank you Stefan! I have read many posts of yours and was hoping you would share your thoughts. :) I may see what is new in the Roam V2.. I do not like the slow, sluggish interface on the Roam V1, and had hoped for something a bit more modern.. but I have never seen it integrate with a...

    Vado (SL), Gazelle, Oh My..

Hey all, hoping to get some feedback / experience on an e-bike selection. I’ve read quite a number of threads here and found the discussion very useful, so hoping I could lean on you all for a bit of guidance. I’m considering a few bikes but primarily • Turbo Vado 4.0/5.0 SL EQ •...

    Monte Capro Ultra

Hey all! I had an issue with the SRAM NX derailleur a few months back that is causing me to look into replacing the entire drivetrain with some more substantial components. I should say that I'm pretty much a mechanical novice, so I am partnering with a LBS to do this work. I'm trying to...

    Fat Tire Bike Hitch Racks

Good advice. I have the same rack. and I use additional bungee cords when I've got an ebike on the rack just to make sure it doesn't go anywhere.
