    Vado 4.0 Sale Price

Was that a CX or Speed motor?

    Vado 4.0 Sale Price

This is, without a doubt, the absolute best mid-drive electric bicycle at that price. I am once again regretting going Gazelle when this bike exists. What I love: -The quietest e-bike motor I have heard, by a mile -Natural feeling power delivery, plenty of torque -Class 3 -2.3" tires for...

My New Globe Haul ST (2 weeks Old now)

Is that a reference to how they are installed on the bottom of the bike? Never heard of an issue with batteries falling out. Top load would be a little easier if you remove the battery to charge (very rare use case). Bottom install probably leads to a little less radiation heat from the sun.

hill climbing? 750W hub versus 250W mid drive

Are the Bosch and Brose mid drives measured this way? FWIW my butt dyno found perfect agreement with the way all of the Specialized, Trek, Gazelle, etc. bikes are with regards to advertised torque spec.

Btw, that AQ177 is like 120 lbs. That pretty much eliminates it as something you'd ever want to take off road, and it would be inappropriate for mixed used trails. Once you get to a trail you start to realize its size (more of a vehicle than bicycle). The specs (mostly battery size) are pretty...

hill climbing? 750W hub versus 250W mid drive

160 vs 58 nm is worlds apart. My two bikes are 75 and 50 nm and they are night and day in terms of climbing. Another 90 nm bike I had was again significantly better than the 75. Do you know how manufacturers typically measure torque for spec sheets? Another example. The Priority Current is...

    Potholes.

Living in Texas, I think about this a lot. Our roads are pretty bad, but not the in way that you might think. We likely have fewer potholes. The issue is we have too many coarse washboard roads. They are called Chipseal, which is essentially an unfinished road, lacking the smooth top layer...

My New Globe Haul ST (2 weeks Old now)

I came in looking for something like that, but decided against it. I'm really glad that I went with bikes that can be pedaled. (If the seat can't be adjusted - it can't really be pedaled much) If your budget is around $2500, get the Vado 4.0 It's going to beat anything in that price range...

My New Globe Haul ST (2 weeks Old now)

My guess would be 2 years for a new model - and suspension is definitely not guaranteed. The new Specialized Porta is also rigid fork. I would hope they can solve any firmware bugs ASAP. The green color was released a few months ago.

Might want to look at Tern bikes. The Globe Haul is a pretty new model still.

Is it possible to reverse Enviolo's twist shifter orientation?

Here's a good video: If you reverse, just make sure the cables are perfectly straight - otherwise it could be finicky. Ninja edit: I could see how it makes sense the way they have it. Twisting backwards = higher gearing for faster riding. Similar to acceleration with a twist throttle. On the...

Is it possible to reverse Enviolo's twist shifter orientation?

Reversing the cables at the twist shifter should do it, unless I’m missing something.

    Bosch Connect Module (GPS)

Glad to hear you got it working! Also ran into some silliness in the frame design that made adding the Enviolo Automatiq impossible. It would have worked on all of the competing bikes.

Should I buy a Vado SL, or Wait for the Release of the Version with the 1.2 Motor?

That would make a ton of sense. The carbon frames amplify the most minute braking sounds.

hill climbing? 750W hub versus 250W mid drive

I had a Haul ST (1000 watt Bafang restricted to 750 watt / 90 nm torque), and have a Bosch Performance Line with 75 nm torque. 750 watt - will do a lot more work for you 250 watt Bosch - will feel seamless, like you're a professional cyclist crushing hills

Should I buy a Vado SL, or Wait for the Release of the Version with the 1.2 Motor?

Yeah I am incredibly noise-sensitive (especially high frequencies), and it just plain sucks. Tinnitus & hyperacusis. Maybe I'll go into more detail in another thread some day. In any event, I only added it here because it's something that comes up quite a bit in reviews and discussions of the...

    Tero X 5.0 Fenders removed

My thoughts exactly on the disconnect sound if it ever fell off -- but I always turn it off on hike and bike trails so that wasn't foolproof.

    Tero X 5.0 Fenders removed

This one is fantastic: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B097XS7SFF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The stock mount is pretty terrible given the price of the Varia. It won't stay in place when twisting the Varia in and out, and the rubber will snap at some point.

Should I buy a Vado SL, or Wait for the Release of the Version with the 1.2 Motor?

Might be worth testing in person. Motor noise is pretty significantly quieter than the 1.1 motor, and power.

    Enviolo or Rohloff?

On the forum there is an owner of an 85 nm Bosch and 140 nm Priority Current who said they felt about the same climbing.
