    Negotiations on price

Nice work! Would be curious to hear the price you were able to get, if you are comfortable sharing. That link doesn't show any 2023 Ultimate C380 bikes like yours. Also if you're relatively (or even a little) handy ordering online seems like a perfectly fine solution. Several new bikes we...

My New Globe Haul ST (2 weeks Old now)

I’m not understanding this 100%. The bike uses a torque sensor to determine when to provide assistance, but I think it’s fairly straightforward. PAS levels 1-5 give gradually more assistance, irrespective of your gearing. That’s how I remember it at least. It is a pretty balanced and elegant...

Unsolicited comments about your ebike lately?

Very popular around here. I see a bunch every day. IMO if you have a vehicle that does 45 mph out of the box, and 80 with some quick mods then it’s not a bicycle. Correct me if I’m wrong! That advertising copy is very deliberate. Not sure what the problem with registration is. Everyone with...

    Gazelle Bike Bell Attaching Ring

The Gazelle bell is definitely nicer than the average bell, but if I needed to I would go with a "Timber!" https://mtbbell.com Off the shelf bells are kinda all over the place. Many are too piercing and shrill imo. Gazelle's is a good balance.

    Delta Stem Riser Recall

Thinking about this again, my issue with the stem raiser was 9 months ago. 10 nm (or whatever the spec was) barely held the handlebars in place. It's crazy that this went on for so long, especially since it's such a popular item. I remember having a conversation with REI about this too and they...

    Fourth Best Helmet Half-Priced

I have a tactic and mode. Mode looks super weird, Toadstool from Mario Brothers vibe. Tactic looks good even for everyday use.

    Delta Stem Riser Recall

The original torque spec was like 10 nm iirc. I actually had my handlebars come loose using this stem extender, luckily going very slow but it happened about a minute into a test ride. At that point I torqued it to taste. Just remembered this. So yeah if that’s the reason for the recall I...

    Delta Stem Riser Recall

Thanks! Have one too. Wonder what the repair will be.

Unsolicited comments about your ebike lately?

Comments about my e-bikes have universally been positive and inquisitive. Unless it's a group of kids in a car that throw or yell something before cowardly speeding off. :)

    Specialized Vado 4 or Ride1Up Prodigy V2

1000% the Vado 4.0. I’m thinking about trading my Gazelle C380 for the 4.0.

Mid-Drive - Front Tire Wear More than Rear Tire Wear?

Interesting to hear that about the front brake. I've read Sheldon Brown's treatise on braking and found it to be helpful.

New Cargo Bike for the European Market (Specialized Porto)

If torque is measured the same way as the Globe Haul (also 90 nm, but a hub), you'll have no problem with even very steep hills. I love them for hauling, but still plan on getting something slimmer like ortliebs. I probably got them on sale too. The Fjallraven/S stuff is amazing considering the...

New Cargo Bike for the European Market (Specialized Porto)

TBH, I would prefer suspension and a front load design like Load/Urban Arrow/Bullitt. The real hero on this bike is the motor. The Fjallraven coolcave panniers are priced a bit silly (often on sale), but they really are great. Been using them for nearly a year and have zero complaints. Course...

New Cargo Bike for the European Market (Specialized Porto)

Really a shame that this isn't hitting the US. All of the electronics are used in current Specialized bikes.

My New Globe Haul ST (2 weeks Old now)

You're welcome! You can run the tires pretty low too. 15 PSI works well and that helps to soak up a lot of the minor bumps and road surface. The seatpost smoothes out the bigger impacts. I think someone on youtube went down to 8 PSI or so. Never tried that myself.

Redshift. I think you need a real spring, not just an elastomer. I used this on the Haul and it was great.

    I've found my future ebike

That Alfine looks really nice! He mentions reliability issues with old hubs made until 2017, and some sponginess under hard pedaling at low cadence (climbing out of the saddle)? 5-7% less efficient than a lubed derailleur in dry weather. Otherwise it's $200, has an electronic shifting upgrade...

    I've found my future ebike

The SL 1.2 in my Creo 2 sounds like that unless at very low cadence. Clearly audible at all times otherwise. I’m also in the 30 day window and finding myself avoiding using the assistance for that reason. One of the reasons I bought is consensus was it was “silent” and Specialized even said it...

UK Bikers Tactic to stop Bad Drivers.

Car dashcams have become very popular, and rightly so. Why not bike dashcams too? I’ve been running dashcams in our cars for 6 years, since witnessing a brutal hit and run. Over time more drivers will assume that bicyclists have recording devices, especially with e-bikes. Cyclic is great...

Is it possible to reverse Enviolo's twist shifter orientation?

Run the reverse idea by your LBS, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
