    Are You a Cyclist?

Living in the USA - to avoid haters, I have a jersey that says "US Army". Also wear socks with logo/colors of nearby University sports team. I've been OK since these changes. Still have issues with BMW drivers but there's no shirt/logo that can help with that. Just have to be lucky.

    Specialized Vado 4.0 - Beware

That's great to see on a website - nice models. But they can't be purchased because they aren't available anywhere.

It It's known fact that too tight helmet straps makes one cynical beyond reason. You have reached that threshold.

    Range Extender Turbo Vado SL

Split charging cable is $65 USD - crazy price so I will have to charge separately. But no problem - feel lucky enough that I have my SL. At first, the LBS said they could order and get me a range extender end of August shipment. But they checked and already had some coming in early August...

    Range Extender Turbo Vado SL

Isn't a tight fit a good thing? The way your post reads 'but it does work' doesn't sound like a stellar review.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Screw it. When I'm out on my Vado 4SL I don't see this spreadsheet. Love everything about my bike and doubt the 5 would deliver any more dopamine/mile. Go bike.

    Range Extender Turbo Vado SL

Okay - went to my LBS and I'm on the list for a extra battery. Should be in about a week or so. They didn't mention a cable but I see I need one per Spec web site. Question for anyone that already has an extender - Do I need the 160 or 220 cable? There is a reviewer on the Spec site that says...

    Specialized Vado 4.0 - Beware

I bought a chain with a letter E designation. Said it was a chain made for ebikes - I'm assuming it's stronger than a regular bike chain but I don't know. And the jury is still out on the premature failure of cogs in the rear cassette on the Vado vs a standard bike. You'd need more data...

    Vado firmware update

Yes, similar experience. LBS said they updated to latest firmware before I left the shop with new SL. But with first run of Mission Control - app said the bike needed updating. MC indicated the latest firmware fixes an issue where the bike slows under 15% battery. I don't typically get down...

    Chain maintenance

Just adding to the chain cleaning confusion. I use Simple Green cleaner in a spray bottle and just spraying the solution on the chain cleans it pretty well. I also use a small brush for any pieces of debris that become lodged in the sproket. Then, I just lube with 3 in 1 brand oil for the lube...

    Specialized Vado 4.0 - Beware

I actually have an '88 Cannondale built in CT. Also have a Cannondale Supersix - 2009, last year they built in USA. And it's carbon! Not worried about my new ROC Vado SL though. Welds look good. Seems pretty sturdy. And it has warranty from company that isn't going anywhere. 🙏

Replacing the drivetrain in Vado SL 4.0: Does it make sense?

Exactly my experience Roch - clunking through shifts if I'm pedaling. I've taken to stop pedaling for a second when shifting and seems to be bit less stressful sounding on the drivetrain. I'm not sure if this will have positive effect on chain and cassette but hopeful.

    Requesting assistance...which bike?

Point taken. Beautiful bikes and nice job!! I still believe my Vado SL is worth every penny and then some. I've only had it a short time so I'm not certain about reliability. And, given all the parts shortages I worry about turn-around time if I have a problem. But - again - this is a super...

    Frame breakage Vado turbo

Hate to see that crazy backlog number. Any one of us Spec owners could have a similar problem and not be able to get a weld fix. And what if there's an issue with a motor or battery? Those items might not take two years to acquire but the wait must be pretty long. Can't imagine being without...

    Requesting assistance...which bike?

If you have ridden regular bikes than you know the great difference in speed that 16 and 18 are from 25mph. It's a chasm actually. I think if you want to ride at 25 on the SL you can do it. But you said cruise and that implies with ease. 25 on the SL takes effort on anything other than flat...

    Requesting assistance...which bike?

Can you cruise around on your SL at 25mph? That was the poster's request. I stand by my remarks that SL is not the model for a person to maintain that average speed.

    Requesting assistance...which bike?

If you want to cruise around at 25mph I don't recommend the SL model. I think you want the '4-times you' models.
