    Ordered the A7 Pro

Debating whether to keep my original Himiway Cruiser to just beat on or to sell it for cheap. I'll figure that out once I seat how this new one handles.

    Ordered the A7 Pro

via a local bike shop, who will assemble w/ Tannus inserts (why not?). It's supposed to ship to the bike shop (so, shipping from SoCal to NorCal), so it's possible that I could be riding it this weekend. Can't freaking wait!

    Aventon Level or Himiway?

I've had the original Himiway Cruiser for 4 years now, have a little over 2650 miles on it (had an injury that kept me off it a while) & it still is fast, strong and goes for quite some range (over 2 rides last week, totalled 52 miles & about 2,000 feet climbing). BTW, I weigh 245, and it still...

    Specialized Turbo Levo

Nice! I like to use the single-track around Lake Natoma. It's a lot of fun. Yes, Dirt Daze is a lot of fun. You'll want to get there early, though, as the e-mtn bikes get checked out quickly. You can beat them up for hours, and I know first hand that the mtn bikers around Nevada City have made...

Evelo Omega and Priority Current compared

I was considering that one, but, when I do go off-trail, I have this awful habit of crashing, bloody-ing (is that a word?) myself up and, occasionally, unable to pedal after that (yikes, I know). I'd be on that Prodigy V2 w/ CVT like white on rice, but, without that ability to throttle, I can't...

Need Help finding the right E-Bike

You're asking good questions, so please keep it on this. I am interested in the Zen, too.

    Specialized Turbo Levo

I test rode the 2022 Turbo Levo, and, suffice to say, that bike is my Unicorn. It's the bike I measure all others by. FYI, if any are in NorCal, Speciliazed and others will be at Demo Daze in Nevada City on Sat, May 4. It's a good time on some great trails.

Need Help finding the right E-Bike

Forgot to mention the Zen Photon. That checks a lot of my (your) boxes, too. Good question. The one difference to the Evelo is that there was a suspension fork. Otherwise, I really like the Evelo. I will keep looking at it, too. They do have the 21-day trial period, a great warranty and great...

Need Help finding the right E-Bike

With a $5k or less budget, the ebike world is pretty much your oyster. I know some of the bigger producers well. For what you're looking for, you could check on Aventon Aventure2, Himniway Zebra Pro (mid-drive), Mokwheel Basalt, Mooncool MC3... all have throttle. I'm with you in wanting a...

    Zen Photon Pro- Preorder | 1040Wh UL Certified battery | 500W nominal/900W peak power Torque-sensing motor w/ Throttle | USD 2999 | CAD 3999

Those look great, Kriti. Any idea on how long it would take to ship if I ordered today? I am in California. I know you don't have dealers, but are there any shops in NorCal that might be able to at least service these bikes if I have issues or need a tune-up?

    Zen Photon Pro- Preorder | 1040Wh UL Certified battery | 500W nominal/900W peak power Torque-sensing motor w/ Throttle | USD 2999 | CAD 3999

For those of us newer to this conversation, what is the difference between the heavy duty and the automatiq? TIA. Someone on another thread posted about Zen, and i am very interested. Maybe I can have it all.

    Anyone have the Zebra Pro?

Yeah, I'm coming back around to, maybe, a rear hub. It's worked for me all these years & continues to do so. To answer your other question, yes, there are plenty of Himiway dealers near me, but none have the Zebra Pro in stock to ride, unfortunately.

Evelo Omega and Priority Current compared

Great review! My only hesitation about buying the Omega is the lack of suspension (same as the Current). How does it feel off-trail over rocks & some bumpy dirt (think tree roots, etc)?

    Upgrading from original Himiway Cruiser

Ok, update... pretty much ruled out the Evelo & Ride1Up Prodigy V2 w/ CVT. Why? 1. Evelo Omega- great bike, but complete lack of suspension would not work, since I do like to take the occasional bike trail. Want at least front suspension... or some suspension. 2. Ride1Up Prodigy V2 w/ CVT - the...

    Anyone have the Zebra Pro?

That's good to hear. I was reading another thread where they were saying dealing with the chain on a mid-drive was a pain.

Help finding a mid-drive, torque ebike with a throttle and natural pedal assist?

Agreed, they are heavy, but I've beat the hell out of my original Cruiser and it keeps on tickin'. Wiped out on a single-track trail on it last Friday. My wife did not find me being all bloody amusing. I did.

    Anyone have the Zebra Pro?

Unfortunately, none of the Himiway dealers near me has had this one in stock. My only real concern is cleaning or changing a chain with a mid-drive would not be easy or fun. I'd love to see them with a belt drive option.
