2023 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Did about half my normal Seaplane Base ride this morning! Unlike @BlackHand, being routed through there is not an issue for me 😁. I was all gung-ho to do the whole thing, but PM thought it was time to head home. He was right! As soon as we got the long (not particularly steep, except right at...

My first taco was from Jack-in-the-box 😱😱😱! It's a miracle I survived, and eventually gave real Mexican food a chance!

2023 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

When we visited our former landlord's family in Greece several years ago, their daughter, Dina, couldn't wait to take us to the newly opened Mexican restaurant. We got to our table, and they brought out the chips and salsa, followed by our meals. Dina's husband, Michalis was very upset, and kept...

Let's shape the future of e-mobility innovations together

I would like a mid drive bike similar to the Momentum La Free, with an integrated battery and a throttle. Riding on stroads with traffic is dangerous without said throttle. It's still dangerous, but less so with the ability to start out a bit faster.

2023 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

First ride back on my La Free since returning to the PNW, and being down for 2 WEEKS with the COVID we picked up on our flight day home. 4.6 mostly flat, truly grueling Kilometers - I feel like I just did one of Rab's rides 😱. Perhaps I was pushing it on my 3rd day out of bed... So disheartening...

Yeah, the Navy is funny like that 🤣. Fortunately, I have ID. Good to know about the bridge - will put the bikes on the rack and head up there to ride soon - no way in hell I would attempt that stretch of RT 20 in the summer time on the bike (though I know @Mr.Coffee has also done so - you're...

Is the bridge on the Tommy Thompson all repaired? It was out of service last fall when we left because of vandalism 🤬. Beautiful ride!

Battery safety education - Only you can prevent battery fires!

I would not charge in a garage when the temps were 110 outside... Don't want to take any chances with battery fires. Also, doubt bike batteries are the same as EV batteries, but that's just me 😁. Is Magicycle willing to assume the liability if there is a fire?

Going for a larger frame size for a hybrid bike than recommended

If you rode the bike before you bought it, and feel comfortable on it, I wouldn't worry too much about being outside recommended parameters. As mentioned above by Ben, ride the bike, and if you experience things you can't live with during the 30 days, return it. You're not stuck, at this point...

Encinitas City Council declares emergency for e-bikes, bicycles

I have to admit that, sometimes, when I ride the Battleground in Greensboro, I call out "On your left, pedestrians walking in the bike lane" as I ride courteously past, giving wide berth to a gaggle of them taking up the whole space...😈. The pedestrian lane is clearly marked (as is the bike...

Encinitas City Council declares emergency for e-bikes, bicycles

Come on up to Seattle and try the Burke Gilman trail - there are plenty of them 😱. Granted, they don't always mow down pedestrians, but that's only because most regular users have learned to get the hell out of their way.

Encinitas City Council declares emergency for e-bikes, bicycles

Although, a great many of the "traditional cyclists" I've dealt with on MUPs and other multi use spaces are NOT "slower". Their only saving grace for their assholishness is they're not nearly as heavy, and so, technically, can't do as much damage when they mow pedestrians down ...
