What bike you will pick as a first e-mtb? Turbo Levo carbon comp 2025 vs Turbo levo 2025 vs Turbo levo SL comp 2025 with new genie shock

Tero 5.0 is the best you can get: the strongest motor, the best components, and the equipment Tero 4.0 ST would be very good for your wife. I think size S could be appropriate for her. There is a sizing tool next to each e-bike model in the Specialized website. Forget the Levo if you need an...

    Took a tumble

So many people try supporting themselves with a hand when falling on ice while they are just walking. It ends up with broken wrists, which are very bad and even hard to fix by surgery. As you might have noticed, one hand of Chez is eliminated for half a year. My late wife had her wrist broken as...

The reason we have hands is to be able to use them. It is rather hard to use your hand with a broken wrist.

I cannot stop the memories coming back... I made friends with Jerzy Bańkowski back in 2013 on a guided bicycle tour in Warsaw. Jerzy had a bike he bought a dozen years before, and which he had never ridden. At that time, he was 130 kg/286 lbs, and decided cycling would help him lose weight. We...

Do you really need to torque a through axle?

What I have on my Specialized e-bikes is a design called "self-extracting crankarm". The crankarm is expected to be installed on the mid-motor spindle. Please ignore the outer ring: it is what a normal user never even touches. There is an 8 mm hex socket in the centre of the crankarm nut. To...

The real weakness of both Komoot and RWGPS is neither of those systems could form a big social platform 😊

Do you really need to torque a through axle?

Thru-axles are designed to be removed and replaced often. Their design and function does not require a high torque. BB is a rotating part while thru-axle is not.

Confused Between Renting and Buying An Electric Scooter?

I don't know. Used to rent Lime e-bikes in London at extorsional price until I discovered the company offered more reasonable long-term plans.

Thank you! I still need some time to understand England's geography better! Even if I travelled here and there 😊

I think I understand, Jeremy! Meanwhile, Martin has started this week as a leader again :) That mild English weather! @MartsEbike: How do you people describe the location of Bedfordshire? Is it already the Midlands? Or, still South England?

Confused Between Renting and Buying An Electric Scooter?

Harry, just curious. Doesn't not Lime offer special plans for heavy users of their e-scooters?

Do you really need to torque a through axle?

I'm sure the thru-axle thread is manufactured as a self-locking one (it is precision machining), and the axle diameter is rather big. Thread-locker is usually applied on very small screws that cannot be machined to a tight tolerance, are basically not to be removed, and which undergo vibration...

Do you really need to torque a through axle?

Think of the thru-axle as of a bolt with a nut. Do bolts keep because of the friction in the thread? The answer: Most bolts keep because they are torqued. There are some special threads that intentionally do not hold: for instance the cymbal stands (drums & percussion). The cymbal has to sway...

What bike you will pick as a first e-mtb? Turbo Levo carbon comp 2025 vs Turbo levo 2025 vs Turbo levo SL comp 2025 with new genie shock

Just see the breakdown of the total usage of my e-bikes: The Vado SL is my flat-handlebar gravel e-bike. I have used it on gravel e-races; my rides involve mild off-road (no mountains, no rocks) Vado 5.0 and 6.0 are the same e-bike, only Roadrunner is the e-bike built on a new frame (lifetime...

Do you really need to torque a through axle?

Come on... with the torque of 12 Nm? This is a lot! I have removed and replaced wheels on my both e-bikes for numerous times. No worries.
