Incidence, type and age demographics of ebike related injury

I appreciate your view; however, (1) I did not refer to the JAMA family of medical journals, and I would not as that is not a credible means of assessment of their value, and (2) I referred to the actual evidence-based statistics for the journal in question. Scopus provides a similar ranking...

Once I can confirm which bars my bike is coming with (I need to include a Knog Oi Classic bell in the order) I will be getting a Mirrycles mirror. Less than AU$30 and spares are readily available. So a good price and if they are as good as the reviews all suggest a bargin.

The fun of mountain biking. I have done the same ... sent my Garmin GPS flying into the bush and me into the mud. Recovered the Garmin and I was able to continue on with a dented ego but :)

Incidence, type and age demographics of ebike related injury

That is an interesting read, and thank you for sharing. That said I believe it should be treated with caution. I would like to see the full paper to be sure. Still, on the face of it, despite the "statistical analysis", it appears to be just survey data with no moderation against such...

Plus if you are not careful putting your helmet down, you knock the mirror out of position. Anyway @PCeBiker it will be interesting to see how your mirrors work out for you.

Thanks, @PCeBiker, for your input. Just for clarity, my comment about the helmet mirrors was in the context of the OP's question about a mirror mounted to the bike and Rome's deleted post saying he was replying to the OP when he wrote about a helmet mirror. I have experience with Busch & Muller...

Who is this guy? The OP or someone else? Stefan commented in post #7 in respect to Ergon grips and the fitment of Mirracycle mirrors. Post #5 is an informative post on the same mirrors. They are a popular option and have been around for years. BTW what are ‘wait merry’ mirrors?

For a ‘cheapskate’ I am fine thanks and no I will not be buying the Varia with the camera. Seems a rather pointless suggestion given other options. Now if you really were replying to the OP from ~two years ago your suggestion of a helmet mirror is curious. I am not sure how a helmet mirror...

That is nice for you, but not sure how this is relevant to this thread. You do understand how mirrors work right? That said thanks for the suggestion but no thanks. I prefer to use actual mirrors mounted on my bike. YMMV.

Thanks. I am a Garmin user and intend to use my Garmin Edge 1030 and, at times, my Garmin Fenix 7S. When I saw the price of the Garmin RCT715, that settled that decision. I can install an Innova K6 front and rear camera setup powered by the bike for less. I will look into the Garmin RTL515...

I appreciate that this is an old thread but as I am in the market for a mirror and/or Garmin Varia for a SuperCharger 2, and I am interested in the current thinking. Particularly around mounting the mirrors on the bars and the mounting of the Varia. Also is there a preference for the radar only...

SuperCharger 2 GT Rohloff with a Performance Line CX eBike System 2 motor

Thanks for the information. Yes, a Nylon display. I guess I am disappointed that new features or options available for the smart system will not be available (e.g., eBike Alarm tracking) and given the price of the bike I would have thought the the smart system would have been a given. Anyway...

SuperCharger 2 GT Rohloff with a Performance Line CX eBike System 2 motor

Should I be disappointed? I realised today (I have no idea why I missed this before) that my forthcoming (it is on a ship, I hope) SuperCharger 2 GT Rohloff has a Performance Line CX eBike System 2 motor and not a Performance Line CX Smart System motor. I feel like I am getting an outdated motor...

    Am I adequately covered?

This has been my approach for a long time ... Schwalbe tyres (Mathons on my touring bike), and my forthcoming SuperCharger 2 has Jimmy Watts as its OEM tyres. Matched with Schwalbe tubes. I'm not a fan of sealants or other forms of protection so do not bother with them. My preference is also...

    Bosch Connect Module (GPS)

I'm bumping this thread. Has anyone had experience with the Bosch eBike Alarm and ConnectModule? It is selling here in Australia for approximately AU$ 159. I'm not sure as to what the ongoing subscription charge will be. I am looking at it as a tracking device.

I thought this might interest those members in the US and Canada ... maybe it could be an opportunity to get a rebate on your next eBike purchase. See the Velo article for more details.

    Brake clunk shudder?

It does not sound right. My only suggestion is to check the install against the installation instructions provided by Tektro to ensure it is correctly installed. Alternatively, do you have an LBS that can check it out?

    Tires becoming colorful?

Given 'gumwall' tyres or the likes have been around for as long as I can remember and well before that, I wouldn't see this as an 'electric-bike' thing. More of a tyre manufacturer's choice in combination with a bicycle manufacturer's choice to specify these tyres. This article provides some...
