Realistic mileage for the Turbo Vado SL 5.0 EQ?

My experience is very similar to SKent. I bought it because of the weight, quality and lack of apparent ebike look. The motor is very quiet and it rides like a regular bike. I rode their whole line up before deciding. I also bought a Levo SL. I need to be able to lift it on the car rack and this...

    Off-road dog trailer for E-bike?

You know I was thinking, there is a couple on You tube that rode the Great CDT bike trail with their child in a trailer. Maybe I can find the You Tube and see what trailer they used. Took her on the whole thing. Maybe you can check that out.

    Off-road dog trailer for E-bike?

Zybane - I'm also looking for a dog trailer with Suspension. My dog is only 55 pounds, but tall. However, I have seen the videos of the ride in these trailers and it is very bumpy. I would like suspension for both trails and road biking. Please post if you find what you are looking for. Thanks.

    Specialized’s ultra-light 120-mile range e-bike - Turbo Vado SL

Thank you so much for sharing this! Even my specialized shop did not know how to do it. I was on a recent camping trip, and the tenters next to me did not deserve to have a light blasting them, and I like to charge will driving with it mounted on my rack. The best I could do was make covers out...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

My rear cover light has fallen off 2x as well. When I re-applied it the first time I did not use adhesive and now it's off again. Hopefully it is in the garage somewhere. How's the glue working?

    Como Handlebars on Vado 5.0

It looks like you have a horn button on your handle bars. Is that a horn? Did you add it and what kind is it? Do tell.

What's your plan for a flat tire 10 miles from home?

#3 Had it happen more than once, but several years ago. Fixed it on the road with patches I carried in my small tool kit. Worst bike breakdown was the time a derailer fell off, screwed up chain, back wheel wouldn't move. Was going to lock the bike to a post and walk or catch bus to phone, but...

    Vado Handlebar modifications solutions/suggestion please

Let me clarify - my bike is a 2021 Vado SL. I believe there are differences between it and the 2019, so my information may not work for everyone, but I gave all the product information in my former posts. I raised my handlebars a substantial amount. Paying the extra $100 or so dollars to have...

    Vado Handlebar modifications solutions/suggestion please

Good luck with your 70mm stem extender. I found with the stem extender and the 5.5 high 'box one' handlebars previously mentioned plus the three stem inserts, my bars are finally at a great height. Lot's of mods - handlebars, stem extender/s, pedals, seat, grips, tubeless tires (pathfinder 38's)...

    Vado Handlebar modifications solutions/suggestion please

Yes, According to the LBS guy the 42s will fit, I pointed out the width of the fender and he did concede they are likely to not be completely covered by the fenders on the sides. For that reason I decided against them, but after a long ride on a bumpy surface I do think the fly off debris/water...

Why so few EBike reviews on EBR?

Court - I have watched your YTs for a long time. I have seen how you have progressed into more depth. While at times 20% of the review is not something for me, that means 80% is. Frankly, I am incredible thankful for your reviews and your work. I would be saddened if you move on, but know that...

    Vado Handlebar modifications solutions/suggestion please

I liked the Jones bar sweep angle but they were not high enough. Don't think I can return - will keep for Levo or to re-sell... or give to a helpful bike enthusiast. Yes, like the Kinekt. Very nice, but they can not be shortened as there are threaded things at the bottom and the post was too...

    Elephant in the Room

Appreciate the stories and reminders. Been there and done that. However as I get older, trying to use my wisdom and years of riding to be smarter with my now 60 yo body. Recovery time is at a premium at this stage of life and I'd rather be riding than recovering. Agree with prior safety gear...

    Vado Handlebar modifications solutions/suggestion please

Thanks. I did install the Jones 2.5 bars. Very lightweight and nice bars. Had my shop do it and rerun the cables. The cable re-do was about $100 and I asked them to keep them long, in case more changes are needed. We also installed a couple of the stem rings. I went for a 15 mile ride and came...

    Specialized’s ultra-light 120-mile range e-bike - Turbo Vado SL

Thanks for the response. Actually I heard from Redshift and the seat post should fit, but the Kinekt will not according to their email. So I will go with the Redshift which is fine. I discussed tubeless with the shop, and he said either 38's or 42, however if you get 42's they will be wider than...

    Specialized’s ultra-light 120-mile range e-bike - Turbo Vado SL

Copyrider - thanks for your informative posts on riding and equip strategies for the Vado SL. I got a 2021 5.0 EQ SL Vado yesterday and am truly looking forward to mastering the ride. Lived in SF in grad school and can visualize your rides :-) I have a small size and we ordered a redshift...

Raising the handlebar on a '19 Vado 3.0

Thanks everyone for the info on the vado handlebar suggestions. I was able to show some pics to my Specialized LBS and after talking it over, and trying a few in stock options at the shop, I decided to order a Jones 2.5 riser bar. I may also need to add a stem riser, we will see after the Jones...

    Vado Handlebar modifications solutions/suggestion please

Thanks David.... I read some other posts on here.... On the Jones handlebar changes. Terry - is in the process of doing it. Running into Cable issues.... I thought of asking my shop if they could make the change. Have you see that post? Search Vado handlebars and you will find it.

Hi Terry - I'm following your posts on the Vado Jones Bar. It is exactly what I would like to do. Have you rerouted the cables yet? How's it going? Will a shop agree to do it? I like in So CA. I was esp appreciative of your photos. Thanks.
