    Volton Alation 500 Speed Increase

Cameron, yes, you and I did talk, and you were very helpful. I still think the Shadow looks like a great bike. I think the Alation and the Shadow are neck and neck in what they offer for the money. I am in a very difficult situation because, as you noted, I am making a decision based on reviews...

    Pedego City Commuter or Alternative

Congratulations on the purchase! I think you will love that bike, the reviews are excellent. I am begining to take a second look at the commuter style bikes, as opposed to the hybrid/montain style, due to the comfort factor. I think the City Commuter may be the top dog in that catagory. Please...

    Volton Alation 500 Speed Increase

Ralph, I think you raise a valid point about the lack of pertinent information available when spending thousands of dollars on a bycycle . I have spent hours on the internet reading reviews, making phone calls, talking to dealers and even manufactures . So far the best source of info has been...

    eFlow Nitro vs 2014 Zuma

I took a long look at the E3 Nitro as well. The two things that I didn't like about the Nitro were the computer interface required too much messing around to change setiings, and there was no way to add a suspension seat post. I think the computer interface on the E3 Dash and other Izip bikes is...

Which Do You Prefer Cadence or Torque Sensor?

So if I understand what everyone seems to be saying, cadence has advantages but may be at it's best when coupled with a throttle. This seems to be the case because it is not as immediate as torque sensing. Torque, on the other hand, can be more immediate but requires more force by the rider to...

2014 Easy Motion Neo Jumper 650B

Ravi, that is one good looking Bike! If it rides half as good as it looks you will be very happy. Very interested in getting your feedback and review, goodluck!

Which Do You Prefer Cadence or Torque Sensor?

Very good point on the difference in a practical situation. Exactly the kind of information I was hoping would come through.

    Motiv Shadow Thoughts

Yes, $2250 if pre-ordered before 2/14 which is the ship date, according to Long Island Bikes. I believe the normal price is $2500. I think your price on the Shadow is excellent, quite a bit higher from Motiv direct.

Which Do You Prefer Cadence or Torque Sensor?

Court, I guess this question would be primarily aimed at you, given all of your expierience. However, please. anyone chime in who has knowledge. Do you prefer a cadence sensor or a torque sensor as a means of measuring how much power to give to an electric bike? I know the torque sensor is more...

    Motiv Shadow Thoughts

Vern, very interesting. I am about the same height, so I may run into the same problem. I know the Shadow uses a cadence sensor as opposed to a torque sensor, so maybe that explains why the Neo was smoother. Cameron, at Motive explained the difference in detail and I think the torque sensor...

    Motiv Shadow Thoughts

Anyone own the Motiv Shadow? I talked with Cameron at Motiv today and he said nine have been sold. Court's review seemed positive, wondering if anyone here has purchased one and can comment. Cameron, BTW, was very informative and actually designed the bike. It appears to be a very powerful, and...

Izip E3 Dash VS Easy Motion Neo

Vern, the power issue, if there is one, on the Neo bikes is my biggest concern. I think the Neo 650B may well be, overall, a better bike. I think it is the best looking as well. With that said, I would hate to buy it and find that it is lacking in power.

    Volton Alation 500 Speed Increase

Thanks Court, very helpful. At this point I am comparing the Alation's pedal assist top end to that of the Dash & Neo 650B. I would have crossed the Volton off the list if it was limited to 20mph pedal assist.

Izip E3 Dash VS Easy Motion Neo

Thanks Court, for your great reply. As usual you have covered all the bases. I think it will come down to the Dash or the Neo 650B. I have decided to work with Long Island Electric Bikes, as Chris is a dealer for both, and has been very helpful. I probably can't go wrong with either bike, just...

    Volton Alation 500 Speed Increase

Does anyone know the specifics on the top speed avaiable in the pedal assist mode on the Alation 500? I saw it was mentioned in the review, it might be adjustable from 20mph to something higher via the display setting. I thought I would check with some who might own the bike first, before...

Izip E3 Dash VS Easy Motion Neo

Thanks for the thoughts and suggestions. I agree with you Vern, the Dash seems to be the best match for the kind of riding I will be doing. The price is also attractive with the pre order special at Long Island Bikes. I think it is a lot of bike for $2250. There is just something that really...

Izip E3 Dash VS Easy Motion Neo

I will be purchasing an Ebike in the near future, and thanks to this very informative website, I have narrowed the choice down to a few bikes. My riding will be done in an urban area, paved, hilly streets, mostly around town. Speed, and comfort are my biggest priorities, along with having both...
