    Another Neo Carbon Lover

Thanks guys, can't wait. Interesting and long discussion with Len at Lens' Electric Bikes before making the purchase. I was (am ) concerned about the possibility that the 2014 models may have a motor assist cut out at 20mph in PAS mode. He called EM HQ, called the local rep, and also talked to...

    Another Neo Carbon Lover

Took the plunge today and ordered the EM Neo Carbon. Amirs' review among others has me convinced this ebike is a winner and will suit my riding needs perfectly. I should have it by end of week or beginning of next. Thanks to all and especially Court, Amir and Ravi for their input and advice on...

    Neo Carbon Review

Magmir, glad you are still lovin your Carbon. Sounds like maybe a controller/wire issue? Here is a link to a very good site on trouble shooting. The first trouble shooting step is for the throttle, and looks very easy to do with a DMM. Could be something as simple as a bad ground due to a loose...

Local Dealer vs. A Great Deal

Same problem in my area. I talked to my local bike shop that does a good buisness in regular bikes, and he just wasn't interested in ebikes. At one point he mentioned " just go buy a scooter" if want something like that. Part of the problem in NY is that all ebikes are technically illegal for...

    Neo Carbon Review

Great review Magmir. I was all set on the Stromer ST1 Platinum, now I wonder. I am 5'11" 160lbs, so your comments are very pertinent to my situation. One of my biggest concerns with the Neo Carbon was the comfort, but you have pretty much put those concerns aside. . I don't think I have the...

    Thudbuster Suspension Seat Post

Thudbuster offers a free seatpost cover when you order direct. It covers the seatpost tube, and I believe, up to the seat.

Local Dealer vs. A Great Deal

If you have a local dealer and the price is not too far off, I would support the local dealer. Having said that, when we are talking saving $1000.00 or more, I think you owe it to yourself to reap the savings. As far as " show rooming" goes, I won't do it. I don't feel good about doing that, not...

Need help picking out some options

Hi Grandpa Jay, Welcome to the Community. I am sure you will get many helpful replys, but the two bikes that come to mind are the Currie Izip Ultra, and the Izip E3 Dash. The Dash does not actually have the battery in the down tube, but rather mounted on the down tube. Both are very good bikes...

    What's Your Dream Electric Bike?

Ralph, you are getting a winner with the E3 Dash, no doubt. It is top 3 in my book given performance vs price. Can't wait to hear your reviews when it finally arrives.

    Neo Carbon Review

What a great looking ride! Congrats. First time on a quality ebike you actually own has got to be a blast. I hope to find out for myself very soon. Very good to know assembly is easy, and does not actually require a work stand. I would be interested to hear your opinion of the ride...

Shadow with Pedal Assist AND Throttle

Vern, You are probably correct. The Motiv website does not break down specs for each model, just battery size/speed specs. Great idea on the swap, if only it were that easy! It would be fun though.

36 volt vs 48 volt electric bike batteries

Very insightful post by Chandlee. In my case, it is not so much about battery voltage/power but speed limitation in the pedal assist mode. The ebike I may very well end up buying doesn't even have a throttle. I intend to pedal the bike, but I don't want to be limited to 20mph in that mode. Some...

Shadow with Pedal Assist AND Throttle

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the review was done with a 48Volt battery. The 2,250 price would be with the 36volt battery and according to the Motiv website, top speed on that configuration is 20mph. When I priced the Shadow with 48volt battery and shipping, total price was 2850, from...

    Volton Alation 500 Speed Increase

George, Yes, I did see and read that, shortly after reading Courts' review. I still think the Alation 500 is a heck of a nice bike, but the Stromer ST1 Platinum has cast a spell on me. I am finding out the Stromer may not be all that much more expensive.

    Easy Motion Neo Carbon

" Analysis paralysis", love that term. Pretty much desribes my situation perfectly. Dash, Neo Carbon, Stromer ST1, Motiv Sahdow, the list seems to be getting longer rather then shorter! I guess the good news is they are all good bikes and I would probably be happy with any of them. Magmir, I...

    ST1 Platinum

NYCE wheels & Long Island Electric Bikes both are dealers. The problem is they are about 5- 6 hours drive from me. Although I live in the same State, it is a big one!

    Easy Motion Neo Carbon

Court, sleeping in the back of your car, would definately put a unique view on things! You make a good argument for the Carbon, at the price I was offered. One quick question: Did you notice any big difference in the smoothness of the torque sensor/motor engagement on the Carbon compared to the...

    ST1 Platinum

Thanks Ravi, that's seems to be along the lines of what I've been reading in one review. The other reviews just mention that the motor cuts out at 20mph, so I was just wondering.

12 AH Option for Neo Cross

The larger battery shows up on the newer Neo models. The 650B model and the new Jet both come with the 12AH battery. I have not seen the older models advertised with the bigger battery.

    ST1 Platinum

Ravi, when you rode the ST1 Elite, do remember if the motor cut out at 20mph as advertised?
