    Another Neo Carbon Lover

Andrew, my Carbon is a 2014 and has the 9Ah battery. My dealer here in the USA told me the new 12 Ah batteries will be available in April and will fit my Carbon. They will, however be pricey, I think he said around $400.00.

James, I saw that on their website, good to know it works well. They have a chain lube as well, any experience with that product?

    Repair Help And Education

Below is a link to Park Tools' website where they have excellent tutorials on adjustments and tune ups for your bicycle. I have used much of their offerings with great success. They really step you through the process of adjusting derailleurs, cable tension, alignment , etc. That section is...

Video Instructions - Controller, Sensor, Bearing etc maintenance

Here is what Mark from Len's electric bikes emailed me concerning my question about torque values: This is in reference to the rear axle bolts. I would have guessed somewhere in that range.

Serious commuter - time to go electric??

Tommy, I am just under 6'.0 ft. and find the Carbon a good fit. I think Court is around your height, and he seemed O.K. in the Carbon review. The frame rides really nice, of course it is carbon, very maneuverable and lightweight feeling. It is not as stiff a ride as I had thought, I think the...

Serious commuter - time to go electric??

Tommy, you have several Neo owners in the forum, myself & Magmir with the Neo Carbon, Ravi with the Neo Jumper, Eddie with the Neo Extreme, just to name a few. Any of us would be glad to share both good and not so good points about the Neo series, feel free to ask away.

Serious commuter - time to go electric??

Hi Tommy, welcome. All of the above bikes are great choices. I would also consider the Volton Alation 500. The 2014 models will be shipping any day and the review Court did is very positive. The Alation 500 can top 20 mph, and uses a powerful 500 watt geared hub motor for excellent hill climbing.

I got my Motive Shadow Yesterday

Great looking ride Calvin! Sounds like the Shadow will get up and go, no problem, with 36 volts. Really nice that you were able to get the throttle along with PAS. Good luck and enjoy.

The Carbon does have a certain flare to its' styling. Funny, now I am looking at off road ebikes, so maybe we will both have bonus batteries

    Seattle Bike Expo - March 1 and 2, 2014

Oilerford, it's great that you were able to attend the bike show. It's really great that you were able to test ride your ebike of choice, before purchasing. I'm not suprised you liked the Jumper or were impressed with the power level. I feel the same way, and still spend most of my time in Eco...

Video Instructions - Controller, Sensor, Bearing etc maintenance

Yes Court there are some EM guys. I will try Mark at Len's and see what info I can get, I'm sure it's in the service manual.

Video Instructions - Controller, Sensor, Bearing etc maintenance

Thanks Eddie, your tips will no doubt help many of us avoid some hassels in the future. I just wish, as you and I have discussed, we could get a torque value for those wheel bolts. I would be willing to get a " crows foot " for my torque wrench for the right side wheel bolt, if I knew the value.

Can city and state ordinances trump federal law?

Good thing he didn't further question their aurthority and read them the Federal law... the SWAT team might have shown up! I do agree the XB-500 looks more like a scooter then a bicycle.

    Haibike eQ Xduro Cross

I wonder which vendor supplies their rims/wheels? Could it have been a bad batch from said vendor?

Can city and state ordinances trump federal law?

Bikerjohn, I think you are right. Most areas of NY aren't going out of their way looking for electric bikes. Moving along without pedaling could raise some eyebrows, best to keep it PAS.

Can city and state ordinances trump federal law?

I believe both measures passed one branch of the NY State legistaure, and got stalled in the Senate. That's been the case right along. I can't help but think NYC lobbying efforts has something to do with the outcome. The Mayor carries some juice with Albany, and many laws in New York are NYC...

Can city and state ordinances trump federal law?

Best to keep the ebike looking as much like a regular bicycle as possible. Looking like a scooter or motorcycle draws too much attention from unwanted visitors. Trek Neo Carbon
