    Even More Neo Carbon Love

Very good, it will get easier as you continually use the battery. Lithium grease can be purchase at just about any automotive store, or even Walmart, in the car section. Just go around the outside of the conncctor with some grease on a Q-tip, don't put the grease inside the connector where the...

    Even More Neo Carbon Love

Vern, Glad you like the Carbon. About the battery, I had the same problem. It is a very tight fit and begins to loosen up after a few times on and off. First make sure the battery is unlocked, the key should be turned all the way to the left or counter clockwise. Try and get your fingers or...

    5'8" 110 pounds $2k~

Another I just thought of is the Motiv Shadow. If you opt for the 36volt battery you can keep it pretty close to your price range and still have plenty of power. Cameron, the owner is a great guy and is a member and often posts on the forum. The bike is avialable from Certified Electric Bike...

    5'8" 110 pounds $2k~

Hi, and welcome to the forum. In your price range of around 2K there are at least a couple of bikes I would think about. My first choice would be the Volton Alation 500. Very powerful bike with solid support. It does not have torque sensing, but instead uses a cadence sensor, but if you watch...

    Even More Neo Carbon Love

Vern, I hear you on the speed factor of the Dash and the 48/500 spec. I really struggled with that as well. I can tell you that the Carbon is plenty fast. I have never ridden the Dash, but the Neo Carbon gets off the line very quickly and accelerates up to speed in no time at all. In fact, my...

    Even More Neo Carbon Love

Vern, you did good, never fear. I just came back from a 6 mile ride, temps in the 30's and I was smiling the whole way. Averaged between 16 and 21 mph in Eco mode the whole way, and felt great when I got home. One of the best, if not the best purchases I have made in a long, long time. Already...

Can city and state ordinances trump federal law?

Couldn't agree more. If I really thought the legality of ebikes was going to be a problem for me in NY, I would never have bought one. I rode past a police office yesterday, not even a glance. Common sense and not drawing attention to one's self is really all it takes.

Charged Up Electric Bike Media Event in NJ May 14th-15th

Could be a good event. Nothing on the website about who the sponsors will be, or what the actual schedule is like. This is one I might attend if and when more info is available.

Can city and state ordinances trump federal law?

Chris, that's good news. Hopefully it will pass this time around. Interesting interpretation of NY ebike law by Wikipedia:

    Interbike 2014 Coverage

Court, thanks for the update. Very interesting about the throttle on the Peak, I didn't know that. Funny, now that I have been riding my Carbon I hardly ever use the throttle, and when I do, it is usually to just get going! I agree though, would be best if it didn't cut out. Look forward to the...

    Interbike 2014 Coverage

Court, if you get a chance please ride the Izip E3 Peak again. I am wondering if the drive is more responsive now that the bike is in full production and in shops. It comes in at a very attractive price point for a midrive mountain bike, if all the bugs are worked out.

Ralph, good choice! I have about 25 miles on mine, and really like them.

    Clipless or Platform Pedals?

I actually upgraded my Neo Carbon to the Wellgo MG1 platform pedals. I think for the money, they are hard to beat. I had clip type pedals on a Trek and really didn't like fumbling with them.

New Easy Motion Neo Jumper 650b Video

Chris, great job. I especially like the explanation of how the PAS levels differ in their percent increase. I think that is the way to explain PAS when a torque sensor is involved. The lights are definately cool, and I think most people would come away thinking your shop takes care of the...

Any suggestions on the best "must-haves" for ebike accessories?

I was looking for a small under the seat pouch/bag for my Carbon and really like the Topeak Aero Wedge Pack. It comes in several sizes but what I really like is the Fixer system. It's a clip that attaches to your seat rails and allows all the Topeak bags to clip on and off in a jif. The bag is...
