    Upgrade battery options

Absolutely! I just need to decide if I want to go 52v, and if i am willing to pay extra for good quality 18650 cells over the cheap Chinese ones! I am even contemplating building my own. Right now it looks like the 52v Shark battery pack is in the running, but at $600++ (shipping, charger...

    Upgrade battery options

Thanks for the input. The one thing I overlooked is the size and weight. In my mind I envisioned a typical 3" x 6" x 4" UPS size battery, weighing perhaps 10 pounds each. Boy was that a major misjudgement on my part! I was thinking deep cycle gel cells, but I am punting this idea!

    Upgrade battery options

I am stuck on what battery to get as my second battery. I have studied all of the Li-ion packs out there, and have a good feel for the differences Li-ion 18650 cell brand, quality, and the options for voltage and amperage. WHEN I decided to look into normal deep cycle lead acid batteries, I...

    Quick Release Fork Mount Skewer

I hope it works for you! I am not certain why the threaded rod will not allow QR? I simply threaded the original QR mechanism directly onto the threaded rod, and my QR works great! I needed the extra length for my new Bolton front end, which was a tad wider than stock, because I had to mount...

Technical hurdle putting a new free wheel on the Rad Rover.

I had the same issue, and came to find there are dozens of different freewheel sockets out there. I ordered 3 from Amazon which looked like they should fit, but they did not. So I solved the problem by using a stout pair of 90 degree needle nose pliers, inserted the 2 "legs" into the detents...

Screw and thread size for front Rad Rover rack?

If you plan to do any modifications on your Rad, I would recommend buying an assortment of metric bolts, M5 and M6, as you will pay a fortune at the hardware store (like $1 each!). I bought a very wide selection on Amazon for under $20, and have never regretted it!

    Quick Release Fork Mount Skewer

It was VERY easy to replace the axle (that is what I call it). Simply unthread the QR and spring loaded nut on the other side, and thread in the new one! I actually ordered one on Amazon for about 9 bucks (I actually got 5 for $9), and trimmed it to proper length. I took my stock axle to Ace...

    Quick Release Fork Mount Skewer

Though my idea would work, for the price, I think i would go your idea! However, I would insist on stainless if possible!

    Quick Release Fork Mount Skewer

I had a similar issue with my RadRunner, and simply bought a (longer) length of threaded rod to replace it. The local Ace carried it. It was metric, perhaps M5 fine thread, I can't remember. Super simple fix, but I'm not certain what the Radrover uses.

    Radrover Rear Racks

I bought my Rad from a local Bike Shop. He will order parts for me, with no shipping (but yes on sales tax). Is that an option for you?

    Next Project: 2 Wheel Drive

The battery performed well. I did not push it for top speed, yet, as I want to be cautious. But at about 20 MPH for 1 minute, no overheating of the battery, or either controller or either motor. Weather has been lousy last few days, but I plan to tun it all out run on a flat smooth street...

    Next Project: 2 Wheel Drive

I got a few rides in with both motors working, and it works flawlessly! No fighting between motors or tires, and selective use of motors really helps in certain situations. About the only issue was front wheel spin-out a few times, but there is virtually no weight over the front wheel, so I...

    Radwagon fixes, upgrades, modifications

Do you get any extra speed (or range) with that clock? )Sorry, I just had to)! What is the yellow device below the seat on the lower frame? thanks!

    Solar power bike possible?

If you are thinking about using the solar cell as your power source, forget it. If you are wanting to charge your battery while riding, it may be possible but it is certainly unpractical. The typical state of the art rooftop solar cell is 3' x 4' and is rated at 300 watts. They never actually...

    Bent Derailleur Hanger Replacement

You may try ordering, say, 4 different ones that look the most similar from Amazon, and see if you do not come up with a match. Return the other 3 if that works. After purposely bending mine for another project, I have found that the metal that the bracket is made f is very malleable, and is...

Great info my friend! I had not considered that approach to figuring this out!

    Next Project: 2 Wheel Drive

I like the Rad tires MUCH more than this replacement one, so if this works famously, I may exchange the tires for looks (and the stock ones have a bit more aggressive tread, for sand and off road.

    Next Project: 2 Wheel Drive

Yes, 2 throttles. Front would be on demand, no PAS (though it comes with one, which I will not connect) for extra oomph in soft sand, where the wheels can rotate at different speeds without too much issue. On pavement it may get interesting, as you state! The second front drive wheel will not...

    Next Project: 2 Wheel Drive

I bet you can't figure out my next project? While waiting for my derailleur to show up, I decided to pull the trigger on my "All Wheel Drive" Rad Runner (primarilly for beach and off road use). I bought a 1000w hub motor/rim and mounted a tube and tire, and mounted it to my Bolton front end on...

2nd Bosch Powerpack Battery - Used in Parallel How ?

I know nothing about Scott ebikes or Bosch powerpaks, but I do not see how the bike (the controller) would have any idea if 2 batteries in parallel were hooked up, or just one. I respectfully question these responses?
