Repurpose RAD battery as emergency power source

You would need an inverter with a 48v input, but yes, it would work just fine. Remember though that you would be very limited to the number of amps available (about 6 A max at 120v)

    Bafang 750w Motor Upgrade

Keep in mind that Rad advertises the motor they provide as being 750w. It is not. Therefore, I would be dubious about their torque ratings as well...

motor quits upon initial throttle twist

I did a reset, and started fresh, and everything worked fine!

New error report on Rad Runner

Thanks my friend! I did have that one unplugged for a while!

New error report on Rad Runner

OH GOSH, no! I am installing a derailleur to my RadRunner, and lowering the center stand (to accommodate the additional frame height of the Bolton front end), and had things all loosened up and apart to accommodate the projects. When I got it back together, this is what I got! It seems like a...

New error report on Rad Runner

I completed some basic frame mods and went to turn on my bike, and got a "Motor position sensor fault", and nothing works. I have not seen this or have not read about it. Any ideas? any reference for all Rad errors and codes? Thanks!

    Front dropout fortification

As you may know, I added a 1000w front hub motor to my Rad Runner. I began to have some concerns about the strength of the dropouts, which appear to be cast aluminum, and are not very "meaty". I read some other reports where it may be unsafe to install a hub motor EITHER on a sprung fork front...

    USB Charger?

I run a splitter on my RadRunner (with 35A aftermarket controller and display), with no issues. It is very light draw items, such as a cell phone and bluetooth speaker. Sorry, that is the best I can add...

    Radrunner (chilli with peppers)

I have found that it is best to order from Amazon, if the part is available, even if it is a buck or 2 more. Shipping is nearly always fast, and returns are SUPER simple, with most orders not even requiring return postage! Trust me I have made PLENTY of mistakes, and some times I even order 2...

Completed my RadRunner upgrade/modification, Phase 1

The wiring faces the rear of the bike. I mounted the new controller in the same spot as the original, and even mounted the skit plate as well. The wires have to make a 180 to go back into the bike frame, but there was enough length. I'll try toi get a photo this evening...

Completed my RadRunner upgrade/modification, Phase 1

The baskets are collapsable, which is REALLY nice. There are different sizes on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083QC4RHS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I love the mirrors. They take up no valuable handlebar space, and hang out of the way. Kind of sporty looking...

Completed my RadRunner upgrade/modification, Phase 1

It just had wiring coming out of 1 side as I recall. I sealed it in a plastic controller box, so I cannot see it, but all of the wires come out on one side. EVERYTHING was plug and play! No issues...

Completed my RadRunner upgrade/modification, Phase 1

I will have to look for that Bolton article/video. I have had no problems whatsoever, I have used the front motor only on streets, and it gets up to 30 MPH, with no issues. However, I primarily use it for soft sand, where it really shines. Thanks for the warning!

Completed my RadRunner upgrade/modification, Phase 1

I added the 35A controller and color display from Electric Bike World, but I believe it is identical to Boltons. Bolton was out of stock for a long time, so I went with EBW.

    Radrover step thru weight limit

Rider, second rider (child) and accessories max weight rating for the rover is 275#. I would think if it was a short ride, no off road or bumps, it MAY survive!

    Radrunner (chilli with peppers)

I have the EXACT same issue, and at first I thought I would use a thick washer which still allowed the center stand to fit into the "notch", but as you observed, it can only be so thick. I found a piece of this "tubing" at the hardware store. It fits perfectly into the notch on the frame, and...

    Radrunner (chilli with peppers)

I was on board with that response. I presume by the fork problem you mean that the forks being longer than stock, the center stand is no longer effective. Were you suggesting that th1t 1/16 is enough of a shim to make the center stand work again? I devised a method of lowering the center stand...

    Radrunner (chilli with peppers)

I am mid project in installing a derailleur in order to allow 7 speed shifting ability. I am also working on the center stand issue. I removed it (center stand) last night, and am debating how much I must shim it to be effective. I had not even considered it interfering with the derailleur...
