2022 Turbo Vado SL 5.0 EQ vs 2015 Turbo

I forgot about the "GoSwiss era" and was never part of it. I know that rear hub motors can be heavy, the one of my Stromer ST1x is around 14lbs (and still one of the smallest Stromer motors...), so at least 3 times the SL motor. But it also offers power at least as much. I guess the same is true...

Turbo Creo SL Comp carbon EVO vs Canyon Grail:ON CF 7 (this or that?)

I'm between L and XL and chose XL (and your color...). On very difficult downhills I would prefer L, but rest of the time XL is great for me.

2022 Turbo Vado SL 5.0 EQ vs 2015 Turbo

I didn't know that there were apart form middle motor also rear hub motor Vados. Maybe only in the US? I don't find many hints of this model in Germany. It looks very nice and already slim/light, like a Vado SL with rear hub motor! But where do the 10 lbs extra weight come from? Actual hub...

Turbo Creo SL Comp carbon EVO vs Canyon Grail:ON CF 7 (this or that?)

Nice color! But you should complain at your LBS about these black dirt dots on the frame, I've never seen something like that!!! ;-)

Turbo Creo SL Comp carbon EVO vs Canyon Grail:ON CF 7 (this or that?)

I don’t know why you are afraid that the Creo/the SL drive will not survive longer steep uphills? This is normally the case with small hub motors (so I’m quite surprised that khan preferred that motor over the Creo). Most (all?) middle motors are able to climb almost unlimited strong uphills...

Move with US Creo to Europe?

The question is not if it's 15.5/16.5/17.5mph. 28mph ebikes are allowed in most countries in Europe. But the rules also for the bikes/producers are so strict in some countries (like in Germany), that it's not possible to ride any "foreign" 28mph ebike in any country. A 28mph Creo would not...

Move with US Creo to Europe?

The other thing is, if you are involved in an accident, you may get fined or loose any insurance money. If it’s just for a few days, I wouldn’t care. But for a whole year there’s quite a chance to get involved in something. But we missed one point: The national rules for 45km/h ebikes are quite...

Specialized creo E5 with fat tires 650BX55 ! GRAVEL SET UP

Great, now I know that around 48-50mm would enter in my Creo when going to 650B! I wouldn't ride any longer this way with 54mm, not even with stickers/protection. I did this on my hardtail MTB with even more space left and even with protective stickers it rubbed away the paint of the lower tubes...

Move with US Creo to Europe?

I also think that's the easiest and cheapest way. Vado SL and expecially Creo SL are not that popluar in Europe/Germany and there a lot of (good) offers on ebay. On the other hand it may take a while to sell the bike again there for a good price. Or just come over here and we swap! ;-) Removing...

New Kinekt 50 Degree Comfort Stem on 2022 Vado 5.0

Same here, the look is a little bit strange and it's 2 times the weight of the Redshift and 4 times of a normal stem. But if it works well better than without suspension on the Vado SL! Ahhh, the main goal was a more upright position? But now I see you already have a suspension fork. Aren''t...

    Vado 5 SL Tyre Conundrum

My main complaints about the Nimbus are the weight (together with 213g tube!) and the dangerous profile for unpaved paths (wet or dry, both are terrible with the Nimbus). It's a pure and heavy road tire but not an allrounder. G-One Allround is good&fast but the profile is gone in a few hundres...

Vado SL or a more powerful bike?

Vado SL or a more powerful bike?

Sorry, I didn't realize that the thread is that old and someone reanimated it this week. But so we pushed the TO for a feedback... ;-) There is no general "right" or "wrong" in the choice between anormal or a light ebike. If high speed speed/less travel time or high support is the main need, a...

Vado SL or a more powerful bike?

Stefan has already mentioned the most important points. I'll try to sum up in short (usually not my strength...): - Lightweight edrives like SL or Fazua are a different world than usual big&heavy edrives. Therefore a price comparison down to a few hundred dollars is useless, you need to like the...

    thank you creo!

Same here. Until summer 2021 I still had my Orbea Terra (no motor and about 10-11lbs less). I did sometimes the same tour one week with the Terra, one week with the Creo without motor. And I rode the same time or average speeds with the Creo without motor. Honestly spoken, the Terra was...

Specialized Creo (all models) - Longest Rides/Biggest Climbs

mschwett is a lazy old couch potatoe, using tons of motor support! ;-) After tearing my Achilles tendon 4 months ago I started cycling again two months ago. At the beginning I needed motor support at the slightest uphill and often full SL support. Even if I’m lazy/much more than mschwett, I need...

    Any info on 2023 Models , 4.0/5.0 Vado's &SL 's ?

Yes, light ebikes with assist drives take maybe 10% of the market of NEW ebikes and maybe 5% of the ridden ebikes. Even less in less rich countries then Denmark, Germany, Netherlands... Normally especially the big bike stores only sell "main stream" with heavy drives&bikes, I'm surprised you...

    Any info on 2023 Models , 4.0/5.0 Vado's &SL 's ?

Specialized has become a very expensive brand, but do we need to discuss this in this thread? I thought you wanted to discuss the technical part here. If you feel better with other brands/models, go for it. But I think you need to ride/test more ebikes with different motor types and for a longer...

    Any info on 2023 Models , 4.0/5.0 Vado's &SL 's ?

3-4kg lighter, so the X20 motor + 320Wh battery weighs around one pound? I would take two! Don't believe in marketing speech with closed eyes and think about it first. The Creo is possible with 12kg, if you take out Futurshock and go to 250Wh it:s 11-11,5kg. What (standard) ebike weighs 7-8kg...
