    My experience with warranty work

On June 9, while riding my Pedego City Commuter to work (a 21-miles-each-way commute), I had the battery conk out halfway there. I thought maybe I hadn't plugged the charger in correctly, because I typically have 30-40% of my battery left when I arrive at my destination. So, I pedaled the rest...

New "Flat-Less" Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tyres for 2014

We're needing to get a hitch on my wife's SUV anyway, so this is just one more reason to get it sooner! Thanks, and I look forward to your review.

    Camera Options (Which is Best?)

@DDuB420, I think you're my new hero. That sounds pretty amazing. A smidgen more expensive than my helmet mirror, but looks like a lot of fun to use. How have you liked it since setting it up?

New "Flat-Less" Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tyres for 2014

@Court, keep me in mind for the Georgia thing. With me living in South Carolina, the event may be close enough for me to swing it. Assuming, of course, that I can find a bike carrier for my car that will work with 1) a very heavy bike, and 2) a bike with the drop tube (a.k.a. "girl bike"). :)

    What's Your Dream Electric Bike?

Oh, and with Pedego, it's best if you call them or message them on FB. I have had issues with it taking them a long time to respond to web-site-submitted messages. I'll be posting that here in the next few days when I detail my warranty experience with Pedego. (My bike has been on the fritz...

    What's Your Dream Electric Bike?

It was Jenny Nguyen ([email protected]) that I corresponded with on February 17, 2014. She said: "The Burley Travoy would most likely not be compatible with our bikes, but I am not 100% sure as we have never attempted to install that onto one of our bikes. It mounts onto bicycles just like a...

I passed the 1,000 mile mark on my Pedego City Commuter this week!

That represents 26 round trips to work, and a 90% reduction in the amount of CO2 that I released into the environment vs. having driven my car those same miles.

    Jimmy Kimmel and Electric Bike

I skipped watching the video until you said what bike he gave away. Now I MUST go watch it! LOL

    The Whining Thread :-)

Wow, and here I was bragging about having commuted by e-bike 30 times since February, without any traffic incidents, and only one flat tire. I think I somehow stole some of your blessings!

New "Flat-Less" Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tyres for 2014

Wow! Totally going on my wish list. It's nice that Velosurance will pick me up if I get a flat, but it's even better not to get one to begin with!

    Mirrors

I have used a Blackburn helmet mirror for many years now, and while it's a bit stiff at the beginning, it eventually gets easier to position. I recently ran across an articulated mirror that looks liek the Safe Zone Helmet Mirror, but which was cheaper. I don't know the name off the top of my...

    Glasses

I went to Lowe's and picked up a pair of clear safety glasses. They're relatively stylish (no Mr. Wizard goggles here... they look more like untinted sunglasses). I think it was $12. They work WONDERFULLY, and I don't fear them cracking/breaking/failing if I get larger debris flying at my face...

Do you get more exercise riding an electric bike?

I've put more miles on my bike (850) in three months than I put on a regular bike in the past 5. I definitely feel my heart rate go up when I ride, and my legs have bulked up noticeably in the time I've been riding. I've managed to avoid breaking a sweat (so far) by choosing appropriate attire...

    Pedego City Commuter or Alternative

I've put 850 miles on my City Commuter, and am still loving it. I had my sister out from California last week, and that plus some rainy weather prevented me from riding the WHOLE WEEK and it made me very grumpy. Fortunately, the weather looks good for this week. If I can ride 4 days, I'll put it...

LOCKS - All about Ebike locks !!

I still loving my Commuter and have put over 700 commute-to-work miles on it. If you have any questions about the model, feel free to direct-message me or put my handle in a post so I get notified about your question. (The latter option shares the info with the rest of the community.)

    100-mile tuneup recommendation

Wow, @George S. , I would LOVE for the Pedego manual to have such detail. I was a bit picky when going through the manual since I write manuals for a living, and found it rather wanting. Good thing the bike is vastly better than the manual for the bike!

    Bicycle insurance

I could only like @Brambor's post once, so I'm also posting to say how AWESOME that news is!! I've been LOVING my ride to work this past week. Morning temps around 45 so I wear my balaclava, and then temps in the low 70s on the way home. It doesn't get any better than that!

    Bicycle insurance

I have had my policy for a little less than two months, and after 480 miles of flat-free riding, I hit a black plastic something on the road before the sun had fully risen. My cycle light is awesome, but it wasn't awesome enough to give me time to get stopped or around whatever the item was...
