THE NEXT BREAKTHROUGH IN EBIKES- SONDORS STYLE

Thread is heating up... Clearly a case of one size does not fit all. Notice how many models of E-bikes there are... I like the Sonders, especially that big battery box. And it just hides the junk nicely. I can certainly see the point the OP was making. And I can certainly agree that with...

16 Innovations in Cycling You Can Buy Today!

Good stuff. In the security department I liked the "idea" of the mobileloc, was wondering before I seen it if there was such a thing as a small tracking / homing device that could be hidden, IE inside the handlebar, seat, tire, or something. The reason I say good idea is the thief could just...

    Motor Torque Specs Minefield!

FWIW I was quite impressed with the 500w version, with all you hear about "overstated claims etc." Furthermore I think that is enough motor, especially with a mid drive using the gears, efficiency over a wide speed range etc. The hill I mentioned is an average of 7%, and some of it steeper...

    Motor Torque Specs Minefield!

Which mid drive ? I just got the 36v 500w, which was quoted as 80 nm, and at the crank, I'd say is a fairly accurate number. I have to "stand on my pedals" quite hard (I know that's not a scientific measurement, but I weigh 160 pounds, bear with me) to get up the hill right outside my door. This...

    BBS02 750w dissapointingly unreliable

Throttles, on or off....well I don't know about the thumb type, but my Stunner just arrived, it has a twist type, and it is definitely proportional. The motor (36v 500w) is dated Sept, 2015. As to the statement that these BBS motors "are toys" I sure hope that is not the case.

STUNNER ON TRUCK TO ME !

Stunner Arrives ! There are a few like it, but this one is mine. Couple of days late, but good day for a test at +8 C. I'm quite fussy about stuff I buy, and was almost expecting to find something I didn't like about it, but happily I can't find a thing I don't like. Initial thoughts, 1) The...

STUNNER ON TRUCK TO ME !

Yes it is shoveling season in cold country, but the guys at the DOT keep the highways clean so I will be able to take a "test ride" very soon. Will update thread as conditions, and time permit. Pretty excited...YES. Stay tuned..... Rick in Nova Scotia.

    Biktrix Juggernaut review

Read it all. I'd say 30 km @ 30 KPH, wide open, with hills, and on fat tires is pretty good. Quite the personal touch having it dropped off by the owner.

    Sale on Juggernaut @ $1399

The headset, and brakes are pretty much a non-issue for me. Also thanks for the call, and better explanation of the indigogo model, I am "rest assured". I appreciated it very much.

Photos of Nice Views Your Juggernaut Shown You

Time lapse cool, I figured 25-30 minutes in real life, but almost looks longer, a lot of different roads, trails bridges etc.

    Sale on Juggernaut @ $1399

"He found a problem with the headset" That type of headset (or goose neck I think we used to call them) come on a lot of bikes now, they are nearly impossible to keep tight. The metal is too thick to be squeezed with the small bolt. Two "fixes" came to my mind, the first not-so-pretty, but...

    Bbs02 500w 48v max amps

I think you answered your own question..."but then you are risking the problems" If your happy with the power as is I wouldn't go boosting anything. The battery will last longer, and so will all the electrical parts. Don't know which model bike you have, but I don't recall a BBS02 @ 48V that...

    Friction Free Generator Lights

Agreed, and the point of it only puts out a watt or 2, AND needs a battery "back-up" I do not see the point. Throw away batteries are quite cheap, in fact I'd rather an E-bike have a battery light system than intragrated, simply because it means less wires, and because LED lights are so...

    IGO Problems

EdW, Ahhh Ed, you live in the warm state, I did travel there once, more or less there and back. Anyway, yes I guess there is fairly good consumer protection here, but you usually have to "work" for it as I did, like I said at first the credit card company was no help, it was when I called my...

What are your suggestions for winter cycling peace of mind?

Something to start thinking about, as it is just about upon us. I think slippery conditions is a good time to leave the bike home. Less road to share is a good point brought up too. Certainly good gloves are a must, cold fingers ,suck.

Anyone know of Taotao, or Ewind bikes ?

Thanks George, I see your a prominent member here. I am hoping the Stunner with the BBS02 will handle the 10%, in fact I'm kind of expecting it will do it with no pedaling. Frankly I'll be a tad disappointed if it won't, not that I mind putting in my share, it's just I don't think I'm capable...

Anyone know of Taotao, or Ewind bikes ?

Thanks Hellfish for the first hand opinion of the "low powered" Ewind. RE Stunner, As far as the tax being in US dollars, if it was added to the US price, and then converted to CAN dollars, that would be the exact same thing as converting the bike price to CAN, and then adding tax in CAN $, and...

    IGO Problems

Waiting 4 months for a part for a bike only 3 months old is unacceptable. Look at the first post in this thread. Motor after motor, you know I don't want another free replacement if no good in the first place. I had an experience with IGO too, bought one online, arrives with bent battery rack...

    Bbs02 500w 48v max amps

I'm no expert on this stuff, but as no one else has replied I will. I believe the 500 watts is "nominal" and at your max draw (heavy load) of 18 amps X 48 V your already over 750 watts, 864 to be precise. Waiting to get my BBS02 shortly, have to ask do you feel you don't have enough power ?
