    beep-beep

You may have to stop when the power failure occurs during your ride to see the error code. That said, most error codes just say to "check connections" which you've likely done already. When the intermittent condition that I had would clear, the console would reset itself. Sometimes the assist...

    beep-beep

Some follow up information... I have a copy of the BionX dealer manual. Under "Battery System Sounds" 2 beeps= "System entering diagnostic mode" If you look at your display just after the 2 beeps sound you should see an error code without entering the 3772 access code. If you have a shut down...

    beep-beep

Do you have the G2 console? Does "wrench" icon appear with the beep-beeps? If so stop and enter the 3772 diagnostic console code to show any error codes. Instructions and code lists at these threads...

Can a D500 be made to go in reverse?

The master code list for the G2 console says code 1976= "Motor Direction- 1= Forward 0= Reverse". Out of curiosity I entered that code on my G2. "Dir" would appear on the screen but it would not change from the default forward direction 1 on my D-500. This suggests to me that reverse is...

    Repairs?

Bionic- If your axle has a flat side you have a "P" series motor with a V2 collar. The V3 collar came with the the "D" series. The V2 was also available in many different angles to custom fit any dropout. If your notch already points down then you indeed have another problem with your torque...

    Repairs?

BionicShark, kente- Make sure your torque reaction collars are the proper angle to place axle notch at 90 degrees to the tensioned side of the chain. If you have the wrong collar you might find a dealer on the web who still has a few in stock...

Known Issues & Problems with BionX Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Dave, I checked mine with an ohm meter. The top contact on the dock goes to the outer cable conductor, the lower contact goes to the center pin. I'd take one of mine apart for an inspection but afraid I'd break something or loose one of those little screws!

Known Issues & Problems with BionX Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Dave, Back in March just after the news came out about the BionX receivership I began stockpiling spare parts. I found a G2 docking station at Scooteretti. If you can't fix yours you may want to check with them to see if they still have a new one...

    Do Dealers Discount?

I received a 10% Black Friday discount at Ebikes of New England 1 1/2 years ago. $237.40 off of a $2374 purchase. The product was already marked down $100 or so making it a double discount.

    Possible downside to speed pedelec / class 3 / 28 MPH ?

There is a safety downside to riding an e-bike at 28 mph. Motorists entering from side roads where they must yield may mis-judge your speed and pull out in front of you. Many may not be expecting a recreational cyclist to be approaching at 28 mph.

Mid drives vs Hub drives ???

Tina, Why don't you try the Google Maps method for comparison. Choose your specific route from Sterling St to Vernon St. The side panel will show the elevation gain and distance when the "bike routes" option is chosen. The route up View St says 69 feet in .3 mile= 4.35% Enter your results in...

Mid drives vs Hub drives ???

The ridewithgps version shows the same section of Hurricane MT Road hitting 15.5% with its more accurate cursor on the profile even though the average grade is 13.2% for that half mile.

Mid drives vs Hub drives ???

If you plot the route on ridewithgps as suggested by Mr. Coffee you can move the cursor along the route and it will show the grade at any one location. That said, you can pin point a specific section of road with Google bike maps and enter the info into a calculator. For example, here's a steep...

    Hill climbing ability

The frame is from an "old school" builder with a quill stem and cantilever brakes but it is identical in function to many of the "gravel grinders" popular today. Although BionX is in receivership the motor is their latest offering and (would be) still on warranty. That battery is brand new. I...

    Hill climbing ability

Hi Keith, I live in Jackson so I climb the same hills that you do. Just to give you a sense of power needs in the area here's how my BionX 500 watt hub motor retrofit behaves with 50 NM peak torque (not recommending that brand due to its current receivership). I live up near Black Mountain and...

Known Issues & Problems with BionX Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I had a recurring problem with my D-500 motor cutting off on bumpy roads. The console would go dark after a bump for just a short moment and then come back on at zero assist. Occasionally there would be an error code. I Googled the issue and found that several other riders have reported the same...

    BionX D-500 Update?!

I've had my D-500 for almost a year now. My longest ride (pictured) on one charge has been about 50 miles. That's using level 1-2 assist to start. The first climb you see on the profile is not as steep as it looks. I'll blast up it at 15- 20 mph using level 3 assist. The mid section of that ride...

Bike impossible to ride due to resistence

Victor- Is your derailleur bent out of shape? In your video it looks and sounds like it's hitting the spokes.
