How many miles have you travelled on the e-bike(s) that you currently own?

20,496 miles since Nov 2016. I have four batteries. The original was re-built this past spring, the other three are still going strong. That's the third lap on odometer!

Batteries and What do you do when the manufacturer is no more?

NE Battery Systems also rebuilds batteries from the now defunct BionX company. Kevin rebuilt mine this past April. Originally 11.6 AH, now 14 AH.

    Mid drive ?

My now obsolete BionX hub drive with torque sensor works seamlessly and silently. The torque sensor in the hub measures the tug on the chain and responds accordingly relative to the level of assist chosen. The stronger the tug the greater the assist. The bike will fly up hills up to 12% or so...

    Regen Braking for e-bikes ?

I've enjoyed the regen feature of my BionX D500 retrofit, now close to three years old. Yes the "regen" is minimal. That said, I have one route from my house to an adjacent town that is 440' up and 1075' down where the regen feature will restore most of the power used for the climb. If I ride...

How to get access to your Bionx Console code menu (codelist included)

Hmmm... When you press and hold both buttons it should bring up 0000 on the display. From there you enter the desired code from the list at post 1 on previous page of this thread using + or - and power buttons as described. Clock would be code 2004. If your clock setting screen is appearing...

Questions about buying a new old stock (NOS) Bionx battery?

I'll report back in a week or so. I just ordered a 556wh battery from the NYCeWheels closure sale on ebay. At $341 + $14 shipping I couldn't resist taking the risk! I assume it's been sitting on the shelf for a year or two. Will let you know how it performs and holds charge.

Don't charge your bike battery above 80% and don't ride below 20%. Maybe, maybe not.

My BionX charger cuts off at 53.4 volts at the top end on each of my 48 volt batteries. With zero bars left on the display when mostly depleted the battery will be around 43.9 volts. The motor has not yet shut down but under riding load the battery will drop as low as 41.3 volts, start chugging...

Don't charge your bike battery above 80% and don't ride below 20%. Maybe, maybe not.

Yes, I already have a timer. I set it for 6 hours for maximum charge as a fail safe over the built in shut off. I have the complete dealer manual pdf from my manufacturer and will indeed take their advice. I'd like to think they've already set their charger to shut off at the optimum voltage and...

Don't charge your bike battery above 80% and don't ride below 20%. Maybe, maybe not.

I bought my e-bike retrofit to use, not to baby. On a two year old BionX 556wh battery I have a range of about 35 miles if I ride it from 100% charged to mostly empty here in White Mts of NH. If I followed the 20/80% rule I'd reduce that range by 40% to 21 miles. I'd be turning around at 10...

Last test ride - buying this weekend!

Fixed it for you! I've reduced all of your photo files by 75% down to 1296x972 using the Windows "Paint" program as described at the other thread. Let's see if the thumbnails appear now... They do! If you save these files to your computer you could hit the edit button at your OP, delete the...

    Posting pictures help needed

David- Your photo (as with the many others you've posted) looks fantastic and best at its original size. Not suggesting you should have posted smaller. I was just trying to help the OP understand how to reduce size as he requested for his photos that are too large. Your photo was at my...

    Posting pictures help needed

Bobsiii, You need to reduce your photo sizes before you post multiples. Your first photo on other thread measures 5184x3888. The one above measures 4000x3000. See David's sizing suggestions above. You say you're using a Mac? See Bicyclistas suggestions also.

    Posting pictures help needed

Looks like the posting options have changed. See Court's screen shot from 2016. There used to be a choice between "thumbnail" or "full image". Full image is not there any more unless you do it manually like David suggested...

    Posting pictures help needed

If you use the "Attach files" tool at the reply box the photo will load in the thumbnail format. If you use the "control P" method like David suggests you can drag and drop the photo full size from your computer. At one point Court asked us to use the thumbnail format when possible to conserve...

    Bionx compatible lights

I've never used any lighting accessories but I'm sure BionX used one of the industry standard sizes. I don't have a micrometer but I'm going to guess it's the Type A, 5.5 mm OD with 2.1 mm center pin. That said it might be a Type B with 6.0 mm OD, 2.1 center pin... it's hard to eyeball...

Is buying a used bionx bike a big gamble right now?

The only time the rear weight is an issue for me is when I carry the bike up stairs, load it onto my pick up or lift it up to the work stand. Riding roads (dirt or paved) it feels the same as before the retro-fit, just faster! If I were riding steep single tracks with a mountain bike then the...

    Bionx 500W disassembly/repair

    Bionx?

I'm curious also. Perhaps they're getting supplied by the European branch that was not affected by the bankruptcy? The BionX website is still up and appears to have been recently updated for the European market. They also have an active facebook page...
