    US Manufactured Ebikes; Cost/Benefit Discussion.

We started an interesting discussion about building/manufacturing electric bikes in the US. I personally would like to see manufacturing of all kinds, not just ebikes, return to the United States and it remain a component of a strong economy and stepping stone for citizens to enter the middle...

Help deciding on E-bike for longer commute

No, I am not. It was more a statement about the US maintaining the human resources behind design, engineering, in general across the spectrum of innovation and manufacturing. It was not my intention to isolate the discussion solely about Ebikes, although I understand why someone might think...

Help deciding on E-bike for longer commute

Yes it would be challenging. I don't know what the business model would be, but figuring out a way to compete with cheap labor is a key component in maintaining our edge at design, engineering, and support.

Help deciding on E-bike for longer commute

Ebikes will be big. I think we are in a spot in history similar to when horses were phased out in favor of cars. Now, I say similar probably not as monumental, but similar. I would love to see industry/manufacturing return to the US so some of the middle class can be rebuilt. If my wife...

Help deciding on E-bike for longer commute

You are the first manufacturer I've corresponded with besides sales chat. Thanks for the straight forward answers. One more question; what would it entail moving manufacturing to the US? What would have to happen for it to make sound business sense to manufacture ebikes in the US? OK that's...

Hi from Colorado - total newbie

Very well said. I ride the Giant Quick E + and this is my third week commuting. It has done very well for me so far and I have 4 LBS within 30 minutes drive that carry Giant products. A couple are within biking distance. It is very nice having that kind of support.

    Hello from San Mateo, CA

Hello and Welcome Rentals are a great way to get familiar with Ebikes. My first rental I was in shock that I rode 20 miles round trip. Blew my mind! Enjoy the ride. You might want to take notes or record impressions, because there are a lot of choices and info out there.

How to Best Charge Battery for Longest Life

Reading my Ebike handbook, the manufacturer states that the battery should be fully charged and discharged 15 times before doing partial charges. Does anyone know the reason for this? I have timed my charges so that the battery does not stay on the charger too long. It fully charges in 4.5...

bike that has: 8 speed internal rear hub, Gates belt drive, mid motor, long range, comfortable!

Something you might consider; you can always buy a second battery and carry it with you. My bike has a 500 watt, but I can also get a a 300 or 400 if I feel I need a back up. Buying a second battery would open up a lot of options for choice and price range. Just a suggestion. =D

    Jones H bar, anyone ?

Here is a better pic of mine. I used the 710 length for the extra room. mine has the 2.5 inch rise and with the angle this really helps my shoulders relax. The Ergon GC1 grips were a a natural fit. I can go aero pretty good holding on to the bottle or bottle cage and I can keep my hand at...

    Jones H bar, anyone ?

I installed the Jones H Bar Loop 2.5 SG on my Giant and I had no issues with cables. Not a good image but you can kinda see it. I really like mine. Much more pleasant ride. I mostly commute with my bike.
