IMHO: these are the ebikes that will get us banned from bike trails. Bike trails, bike paths, and bike lanes should be 20 mph max and no hand or foot throttles; pedal - assist only.

Short Answer; the market is saturated with bikes that look the similar and fill the same role as this one. It does not really bring anything new to the table.

The dealers can program a top speed assist limit on display bikes for customers to try out so it would not be much of a change to increase assist at higher speeds.

I agree. When I first read the post, I thought, "There's a 20% discount!" I would use it for all it's worth. Might even get it delivered.

One possibility: you could order the Giant online and then they would send it to that dealer and then the dealer would have to prep it for you. Maybe Giant would send it to the local Pedego shop. Just a thought.

Hello and Welcome I like your setup. I changed out my grips as well. I use Timbuk2 panniers with the MIK top deck. The deck was probably not necessary for the panniers, but it does help with the grocery run using an old milk crate.

Yes you do get assist. I have some fairly step grades on my commute. I ride a Quick E + and I usually run in eco and eco + on the way home for my workout.

That would do it! Prepare to be amazed. I payed very close attention to how I was riding on the flats this morning. In Eco + mode and in the third to highest gear. I was able to sustain 17 - 18 MPH no problem. I am very happy your problem had a very simple solution. =D

I seriously considered the XM700 but according to Trek's sizing chart the large would not even come close to fitting me at 6'5" and they do not offer an XL. It was hard for me to change brands. I was very loyal to Trek, but 2G's difference, well,... I guess my loyalty has a price.

Check to see if any wires got knocked off of the sensors. Or if any of the magnetic pieces got knocked off or moved on the spokes. If nothing changes I would take it back to the LBS you got it from and have them take a look. 28 MPH takes considerable effort for me even in the sport modes, but...
