I've found that with the Speedbox 2 installed, I don't get as many stats in the RideControl app. Previously the app would show Speed, Cadence, Watts, Heart Rate (0, not used by me), Elevation, Battery Usage. Now it shows Speed, Cadence is 0, Watts is 0, Heart Rate (0, not used by me)...

I will check those Ortlieb ones out. The Granite Black looks like a good match for the Quick-E. So the Chainring fitted well - I've got rid of the guard, as I don't plan on jumping any kerbs etc. The chain is just about long enough. Have a look at the pics attached. I found that when I...

Wow, what a difference with a Speedbox 2 and 48T Chainring. First time out today and found myself whirring away at 75+rpm just to go fast. Calmed down a bit now though. Am finding it interesting that you have to start thinking ahead a lot more and planning what speed is appropriate for different...

Guys, just received my Speedbox2 - postage to Oz took a month due to holidays etc. Was getting worried it was lost. I've also got a 48T chainring - same one as linked by @HarryWiz above. Looks great quality. Will be fitting both tomorrow. Unfortunately working away alternate weeks so won't get...

Come on @HarryWiz , post some pictures ;) Incidentally, how long did it take for your Speedbox 2 to arrive - I ordered mine on the 1st and it was exported on the 5th, now it's gone down the black hole that is Australia Post :( and I still haven't received it yet.

If you've connected the RideControl app there is a System Doctor function in there which may give you some more clues about the spanner icon

LOL.....got to peddle faster. Personally I am going to stick with the stock chainring for a while, until it gets annoying , which probably wont be long. I don't know about the rear light - in my version it's on most of the time with the lights, but I haven't noticed it coming on with the brakes.

When I was testing a Demo bike, there were plenty of strong cyclists passing me doing 35-40km/h using leg power alone. I could have done the same for a short distance !~ If the police are chasing e-bikes they must be taking the p..... and going 50Km/h with 1000W motors or something. I think...

And one of the reasons I went for the SpeedBox 2 is that I asked if I purchased now would I get the Bluetooth option later and they said they would accept the Speedbox 2 as a return and 'I would pay the difference only' to get the Bluetooth version. Which seems very fair although I would be...

    Quick-E+

Hey Guys, just pulled the pin on a new Quick-E+ 2019. I got a fantastic deal from Giant Bikes Hampton, which is now part of Ivanhoe Cycles. I'd found a bike shop in Gosford, NSW selling them very cheap, and was considering flying up there, hiring a car and driving the 1000kms back. So I...

Increase the Speed - Giant Quick E questions

Same thing happened to me on a Demo Bike. The dealer had a mishap with the original battery and apparently changing the Battery for another one can pop it back in that mode. I had wondered why a ride of over 30kms only used 4% of the battery. LOL

I've done a few commutes on the loan bike now - they aren't coming to collect it so why not. I'm finding that I like a Cadence of about 63-64 which equates to 32-33km/h in top gear. I'm wondering what speed that might equal with a 48 tooth?

    Quick-E+

Hi Guys, I managed to get an extended demo of a Quick-E so I could try my commute. A funny thing happened in that it seemed like really hard work to me and I complained to the dealer. I reckoned I was getting Zero assistance when riding at 23-25km/h and this was backed up by using only 4 %...

Nice to see you are happy with the '18. I agree with you about the extra $$$ for the brand. My current bike is a Trek but ahem it has lasted me a while - it's a 1997 Trek ZX6500, so I deserve an upgrade.

Hi all I haven't purchased yet and currently ride a motorbike to work but would like to switch to an Ebike for the fresh air and exercise aspect too. My commute is 20km along the Bay Trail from Sandringham to the CBD, which is all flat but headwinds are a serious problem especially going home...
