    GIANT RideControl App 2.0

That's what I call riding "as the crow flies" ;)

Took the Quick-E out for a ride the other (to get food / exercise). After connecting the Ridecontrol app, I had a notification there was a firmware update :O So as I was at the limit of my wifi, I switched to LTE and let the App do it's thing. The result is in pictures below. No issues after...

There's no trick - brute force is the way. I ended up pushing one in instead of taking it out, but it didn't matter.

My commute is 20km each way mostly flat. I ride most of the way on a bike path with no traffic lights except for the last 2-3km. I use 34% on the way to work as the wind resistance is low, riding in 'Normal' mode. Pace is about mid-30s km/h. Coming home there is a headwind upto 30/40km/h...

Received my tyres today (just under a week Germany to Australia) which isn't too shabby. Put the single G-One on the back and discovered that the one I purchased has a number 1 instead of a P. Which means its an Evolution vs Performance Line. The one I should have purchased is here and was 6...

So the Giant dealer was typically cautious and said I need to replace it (which is of course in his best interests) But anyway, I'm keeping it as is for the moment. Will see if it affects the way the bike rides. FYI, the rim size is 584-21 which means 650B or 27.5" in diameter and 21 mm wide...

Hey, not really understanding any of this ^^^^, but it sounds like you would know the measurements to look for to replace the wheelset? I have a dent in one of the rims plus spinning the wheel there is 2-4mm of side to side movement. Will take it to the Giant dealer LBS tomorrow and see if it...

OK I think I have narrowed it down. It's a toss up between these two:- https://www.bike-components.de/en/Schwalbe/Marathon-Almotion-Evolution-V-Guard-27-5-Folding-Tyre-p73698/ or https://www.bike-components.de/en/Schwalbe/G-One-Allround-Performance-DD-27-5-Folding-Tyre-p73676/

Hi Johnny, I think 2.35 is a mistake on Giant's site as Schwalbe don't even list that size. Just checked the bike and they are 2.25. I want:- Low Rolling Resistance for Fast Commuting mainly Balloon Style Profile to soak up bumps Occasional Trail Capability So with those requirements I pretty...

Looking at Schwalbes Website, there are now 2 versions of the G-Ones in 27" x 2.25" The originals are Evolution Line (which are usually better made than the other Performance Line) However, notice the EPI (or TPI) which is 67 not 127 which is more normal for Evolution. Maybe it's a Typo...

Yes they seem to be 62mm. I've decided - I'm not going to chance it. Will buy a pair of G-Ones and fold up my existing Front and keep it as a spare.

Tyres After 2000kms, got a big gash in the rear tyre so am off the road for now. Has anybody found a good source for the original Schwalbe G-One Allround tyres? Confusingly, there are 2 variants of the 27.5 x 2.25. The Evolution Line and the Performance Line. These seem to be the correct...

So I finally worked out what was happening with the 'Trip Time' issue, where the display keeps flipping back to 'Trip Time'. It's actually not a firmware issue, but a problem in the RideControl app. If you just go for a normal ride, the 'i' button functions correctly and you can switch to...

Sorry guys, the display flipping back to Trip Time is still an issue. Not sure what has happened. Maybe the LBS put the wrong firmware again !!!!

Hey Matt, my headset was creaking which was one of the things the bike shop fixed.

Thanks for that - yep $35 AUD ! Maybe it's the fact they are slightly narrower?

In case anyone is still interested, I had to take the bike into the shop, so got the software sorted out. Had a really bad creaking sound coming from the bottom crank / pedal area which forced me to get the bike looked at. Taking apart and regreasing fixed that but I never spoke to the...

OK worked out what was happening, the display keeps switching back to TRIP_DISTANCE after a couple of seconds. Seems like this is a 'feature' of the new firmware and nothing to do with the App. On another note, got a new chain (Shimano Ebike specific) which just showed up that I'd worn out the...

Yeah, although be aware that Cadence is not available when the Clock is enabled for some reason. Will try it without and see if Cadence comes back.....
