    Wireless Earbuds for cycling

I'd been wondering about that myself. ANC works by cancelation - which is playing some frequencies out of phase inside the earbud at equal amplitude as on the outside. However, it seems that levels would not be high enough to cause damage unless you're in a loud enough environment to cause...

    Bicycle Helmets With Lights

Never seen a helmet with a good headlight, but it's usually easy enough to add one. Power needs really depend on where and how fast you ride. Weight is also a consideration as your helmet might have the tendency to dance around if you add too much. I'm a Cygolite fan personally - feel they...

    Wireless Earbuds for cycling

Still digging the Jabra Active Elite 7 over all the others I've tried. It still deals with wind noise the best, although Earfun released new firmware a few weeks ago that comes with a specific wind noise function. Haven't tried them on a bike yet 'cause it's cold & icy. A couple things I...

Class 2 receiver racks for pickup trucks - what are you using?

Cool - thanks for that. Especially like that they're a local shop to me! Yeah, racks don't seem to be getting any cheaper, do they? I've had quite a few over the years - mostly Yakima roof racks, but not sure I wanna put an ebike on top of anything. Never thought I'd see the day I was paying...

Class 2 receiver racks for pickup trucks - what are you using?

It's time for a new rack for my truck. I think I want one that holds wheels, but might even work with fenders. Not against a downtube grabber either as long as it will work with the fat downtube on an ebike and not mess with the battery. Needs to hold 2 bikes. Something that swings out of...

Chain length dilemma: Who to believe?

Most experienced riders I know say this is the best it will ever get in regards to chain lube. That in mind, I just put it on and ride it. Seems to last for hundreds of miles before needing any care. Whenever shifting gets a little finicky, that's when I clean and apply my favorite lube. The...

I am putting it up for the winter. Do I keep the battery (about 60% charged now) inside for the winter? Anything else?

I do a full-charge to balance the cells then discharge to about 50% - stored at room temp and humidity. Brakes are probably fine if regularly maintained.

Considering a Specialized, got a few questions

The way I narrow that down is taking a future-resistant approach. I'm looking for bikes that are likely to be supported down the road - and use as few proprietary parts as possible. And also using parts from vendors that are trusted. I personally prefer Bosch-equipped bikes for these reasons...

Considering a Specialized, got a few questions

I've had a few experiences with Trek's customer service lately. I'd rate their corporate service at a 2/10. They get one point for answering the phone, but the rep I spoke with was abrasive and defensive. And he did not do anything for me. The local Trek store here was better. They're...

Bike tires? Puncture proof? Skid proof?

No such thing as puncture nor skid proof. Tubeless (with sealant) is best for flat prevention. Err, there are those airless things, but there are big tradeoffs there. Choose a tire that suits the type of riding you'll be doing for better traction. Since you'll be staying on pavement...

    Road weenie karma

I left them stranded? No, they left themselves stranded by not being prepared. I don't exist to rescue road weenies. And I wasn't blocking the pump. It's accessible from both sides. I can't help it that folks don't communicate.
