Optibike's mid drive is like 1/4 the size and more powerful than the one from Bosch. I've seen the Bosch drive, and it just seems like a generic thing that people mount on the companies bike. just seems over used. I like the new Yamaha mid drive, but it's not available in the us

I agree to the point in which I wouldn't take an e bike into the mud. For the cost places on an electric bike, it seems somewhat unclear why someone would cover it in mud. unless you live in a tropical region and it begins raining on your trail, but that's an extreme exception.
