Sorry for the all caps. Since I turned 80 have gotten lazy plus my vision has diminished somewhat. Lots of excuses. Did not realize all caps was hard to read. Point taken. In addition, I have never gone after anyone on this forum or others. I do not like bullies and also do not like being...

I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF WILD TRAIL BIKES. I AM SURE NOT TOO MANY PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD ARE AWARE OF EVERY BIKE MANUFACTURER, OTHER THAN MAYBE YOU. HOW WOULD I KNOW THAT SOME COMPANY IN MARIN COUNTY (HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THAT IS) MANUFACTURES A SPECIFIC BIKE BRAND? MY EXPERTISE IS SIMPLY THAT I...

I HAVE TRIED NUMEROUS BRANDS OF TIRES AND NEVER FOUND ANY THAT WERE RESISTANT TO FLATTING - UNTIL SCHWALBE. 24,000 KM'S WITH ONLY ONE FLAT ON MY JW 365 (HUGE SCREW IN THE SIDEWALL) SPEAKS VOLUMES TO ME. ASK 100 PEOPLE ON TIRE CHOICE AND MOSTLY LIKELY YOU WILL GET 100 OPINIONS. NEVER HEARD OF...

TAKE A LOOK AT THE SCHWALBE MARATHON E PLUS. I HAVE ACCUMULATED OVER 7,000 MILES WITH NO FLATS. I USE THE PREMIUM SCHWALBE TUBES AND RARELY HAVE TO ADD AIR.

After about 500 miles riding in winter in Michigan on the Schwalbe 365, I am extremely pleased with the performance. The 365 traction on ice, snow, slush is amazing. The treads do not hold snow, even the wet sticky kind. Superior traction down to 10 degrees fahrenheit. So far it has handled...

Compulsory insurance "likely" on ebikes if 3-class becomes federal law

This lock set up is certainly one that does not meet the 60 second rule. The vast majority of cyclists do not have a lock set up like this one.

Compulsory insurance "likely" on ebikes if 3-class becomes federal law

I believe most cyclists are careful, even extraordinarily careful. However, we all have moments where we are distracted and have accidents. People who drive automobiles have accidents everyday. If you are at fault, and do not have liability insurance, you could be sued in court and lose your...

Compulsory insurance "likely" on ebikes if 3-class becomes federal law

Everyone's situation is different. If you can afford to lose your ebike(s) to theft then you do not need insurance for theft. Also, there is no such thing as a "good lock". Most criminals will have a lock taken off in less than 60 seconds. In my situation I have two ebikes, costing more than...

Update after 350 miles. Still very quiet. Tires are heavy, thus it takes more watts to get them rolling. The 365 weighs 1140 grams vs 990 grams for the Marathon E-plus. Said another way, the 365 is 15% heavier than the Marathon. One would think the 365 would be much less efficient than the...

    radrover windscreen!

Have visited over 1,000 sites using Google. The original photo showed a Quadrax windshield on a Voltbike which appears to be out of production. I like that design because it also keeps the wind off your hands.

    radrover windscreen!

Still looking. Most sites that had it are now out of stock. Vast majority that I have found are specifically designed for motorcycles and way to large or do not mount to my handlebars. Appreciate the help you have provided.

Do you happen to know the brand name of the windshield in the photos? I have been looking for a couple of days and cannot find one that is suitable to mount on my Trek Allant + 8s.

Winter Biking Advice From A Minnesotan

I am happy those work for you so well. I tried cotton and poly early in my cycling career about 15 years ago and froze during winter when they became saturated with perspiration. The problem went away when I switched to merino wool (iBex) and Smartwool socks.

Merino wool is your winter friend for base layers and socks. Polyester and cotton are no-no's.

I completed my first ride on these tires. I keep data on all my rides so I can make a pretty close comparison between this tire and the Marathon E-Plus. The Johnny Watts 365 is both heavier and much larger than the Marathon E-Plus. In addition, The 365 rubber compound is much "stickier" than...

Allant 8s Newbie...what's going on with the Trek Allant line?

I have been using the Topeak trunk bags for over 10 years. They work great and hold up to continuous long term use. Highly recommended.
