Just got the ultra eagle - getting used to the midrive?

Yeah I can also throttle through the intersection but to me it seems crazy that I have to do that because I can NOT shift otherwise motor will cut off on me in the middle of an intersection. If that's the case this isn't even a bike to me. I don't want to ride a bike that I can't shift because...

Just got the ultra eagle - getting used to the midrive?

I totally understand gearing down when coming to a stop I've been riding a bafang 750w rear hub for 1.5 yrs same concept. The shift sensor is driving me crazy though. I change gears a lot and especially when it's hilly I can be changing gears multiple times on the same road there's nothing flat...

Just got the ultra eagle - getting used to the midrive?

This is awesome I will try to tinker with the assist level because I can't get enough assist without having to stay on the throttle continously. If I can find a setting I'm happy with it and then change the programming on the throttle to gradually increase along with removing the shift sensor. I...

Just got the ultra eagle - getting used to the midrive?

He's saying the way it's setup now if you slam the throttle all the way down you're going to get instant full power. Which is what has made me wheelie and fall on my ass. The way he has updated the programming is that if you slam on the throttle the speed/power is going to increase slowly...

Just got the ultra eagle - getting used to the midrive?

Are all the bafang programming cables the same? Can you tell me where you connect the cable on the bike/motor? You have the same mid drive ultra motor? What did you change to set it so that no matter where you push it starts at 0%? This is how my rear hub bafang system works. I agree much...

Just got the ultra eagle - getting used to the midrive?

I've noticed that, now that you mention it. I have pushed the throttle down too far more than once and have it wheelie on me or ram me in my ass when I hit the throttle and try to get on the seat at the same time. That's probably also why I wheelied at the top of the hill earlier today must have...

Just got the ultra eagle - getting used to the midrive?

Might as well give it one last shot if I've already wasted this much time on it. It needs to be packaged to be shipped back it's not going to fly away back to them tomorrow morning.

Just got the ultra eagle - getting used to the midrive?

The owner Roshan already replied to me and I guess they will let me return it but he asked me if I want to try to disconnect the gear sensor first (didn't know I could do that) and so I said yes and I am waiting for him to tell me how to do that. Will report back if I like it anymore without...

Just got the ultra eagle - getting used to the midrive?

My 750w is plenty fast for me and I was wanting something as a backup and better but I guess mid drives just aren't for me. The 750w is perfect for me but if I could go a little faster sometimes would be nice I'm talking like 3-4 mph but you know I don't think I needed a bigger motor. I think I...

Just got the ultra eagle - getting used to the midrive?

Went out riding today so far NOT so good. Was going up a steep hill and I geared down ahead of time, got on the throttle just as I got to the very top of the hill it fucking wheelied and I fell on my ass. Almost did it a second time on another very steep hill that normally with my rear hub I hit...

Just got the ultra eagle - getting used to the midrive?

I'm just hard on the bike I guess it's my only form of transportation so it gets a lot of miles. The chainring I upgraded to a narrow wide but my cassette was upgraded the first time and second time teeth started wearing and I have snapped the chain a couple times and replaced it. It gets up to...

Just got the ultra eagle - getting used to the midrive?

I have had to do all that anyway with my 750w rear hub juiced bike over the year. That's the reason I got a second bike was if one is in the shop. I don't care about the maintenance as long as I'm having fun with it.

Anybody else go from a rear hub motor to mid drive?

How sl How slow are we talking about? I have had my rear hub drive for 1.5 yr as my only form of transportation and in Colorado I go off road into the trails where I need to be slow and I also have a pet trailer that I take my puppy around on. If I want to go slow I just turn down the assist...

Anybody else go from a rear hub motor to mid drive?

I was around 90%. I just got the bike recently, yesterday was the first time I came down to 54% when I got back.

Anybody else go from a rear hub motor to mid drive?

Yeah it has throttle but there's slight delay to get up to speed compared to hard pedaling and shifting on the rear hub from take off, for me anyway. I mostly use the throttle as an additional boost and rely on gears and assist for the most part. If I have to rely that much on the throttle I'll...

Anybody else go from a rear hub motor to mid drive?

So one thing that's a little concerning to me is are these pauses between gear changes an issue when you're in traffic? I don't really feel as comfortable taking off from a stop light with these pauses as I do with the rear hub. I haven't taken it into traffic yet just trying to get used to it...

Anybody else go from a rear hub motor to mid drive?

Appreciate all the feedback and confirming that I will get used to it so I am going to stick with it for now. I went ahead and emailed the manufacturer anyway to see what they say about returns. I will try to ride as much as possible and hopefully I can get used to it before the return period...

Anybody else go from a rear hub motor to mid drive?

I have had the juiced bikes fat tire Ripcurrent S with bafang 750w rear hub motor for 1.5 yrs and now I decided I wanted a mid drive so I got the Biktrix ultra eagle with bafang mid drive ultra motor (1500w Peak). Has anybody else came here from a rear hub bike and switch to a mid drive? I feel...
