    Tube vs. Tubeless on ebikes

I have a pair of Tannus Shield installed on my old non-electric bike and they are not that bad as you may expect. The worst part was the process of installation of them - putting these things on rims is crazy difficult.

Brand new tire blew off the rim

The fact they are tubeless ready doesn't mean owners will convert them. So you are projecting your own experience to the general audience and I am doing same. Let's see what people are actually using! I opened new thread with vote about ebike tire setup - please join and vote here. I calculate...

    Tube vs. Tubeless on ebikes

In on of the recent threads there were a discussion about the tube vs. tubeless on the ebikes. There where several opinions expressed, but not sufficient statistics were shared to make a conclusion what is popular and actually being used by majority of people, at least those who visits and reads...

Brand new tire blew off the rim

Now that makes sense. This is exactly my point. It is totally fine to go tubeless because you want specific tire or just don't like tubes, but it has nothing to do with getting to the next level in weight, RR or range just because you throw the tubes away. Some tubeless people here try to make...

Brand new tire blew off the rim

Any reason for this to happen that fast. I just checked super expensive R&M and it is not tubeless. Even Specialized Turbo Vado 5.0 is not tubeless. if there is some tubeless revolution in ebike happening right now, big brands are ignoring it. Or you are talking about non-electic bikes here? I...

Brand new tire blew off the rim

Just because of tubeless? Are you comparing same tire or at least similar one? I can feed the difference between road vs offroad tire for sure, but 3mph just for tubeless? Looks way to good to be true. When you are riding on regular bike, all watts are yours and every watt matters, but on ebike...

Brand new tire blew off the rim

I am not sure why flat is such an issue honestly - two cases I posted above are the only I got for > 4000 miles within two years. Probably if you constantly getting flats you should consider tubeless, but if you don't get them, why bother? I checked an article on RR and improvement is RR is...

Brand new tire blew off the rim

Left side is more tricky - the screw went out near rim, so there are 2 wholes and 2nd is very close to the rim. Also it damaged a rim a bit - I didn't notice it before and wasted 2 tubes, which got small holes damaged by the rim itself. May be this can also be patched easier with tubeless, but I...

Enviolo users - can you shift while pedaling?

This doesn't sound normal to me and looks like some defect. You will know for sure when you try other Enviolo bike to compare with...

Brand new tire blew off the rim

I probably spoiled by Schwalbe, but I don't know what small punctures are - it is either no puncture or it is pretty big! 🤣 Here are some photos of my last two - don't think tubeless will help here somehow...

Enviolo users - can you shift while pedaling?

How old are the bikes? It's get much better after few rides and 100+ miles on it. If it is brand new this might be the reason. Checking the cables is good idea, i.e. you should be able to shift almost effortless when stand still (however not the full range is available). If this is not the case...

Brand new tire blew off the rim

    1. See the point, but didn't expect removing the wheel is such an issue in general. How do people ride longer distances knowing if they get the rear flat they can't fix it?! Hoping for the best? I always have at least one tube with me on any rides and if I am going to longer one, I take 2 with...

Brand new tire blew off the rim

I think this differences are mostly due to tires themselves, rather than related to tube/tubeless setup. I have pair of Schwalbe Marathon GT 365 Tire 700x50 for winter/offroad and they are significantly slower than Schwalbe Energizer Plus 700x45 I ride most of the time. I doubt that converting...

Enviolo users - can you shift while pedaling?

You don't need to stop or backpedal for sure, but you need to ease the load. And if you are climbing and putting lot of pressure, this is actually very difficult to do without loosing the momentum. I rode about 800-900 miles on new Enviolo 380 Trekking before I switched to Kindernay VII and...

Brand new tire blew off the rim

I personally see no benefit to go tubeless for ebikes. Weight is not an issue and otherwise tubeless setup has no benefits. Anyone with opposite opinion?

Kindernay VII IGH and HYSEQ Onesie shifter

I don't think has anything to do with shifter - its design is simple and efficient, and there is no difference on which gear you are shifting. How old is your hub? Last time I got shifting issues with mybhub it ended up with RMA and replacement.

Looks like some Chinese QuadLock ripoff. QuadLock is not cheap, but definitely worth the money. Using it for 1+ year after random noname mount from Amazon failed during the ridr and kill the screen on my phone (and was few inches from killing my phone alltogether) and have zero issues at all. I...

    New mirrors day

Why? Anything wrong with this model? It is new and not many reviews for it available. But it is well made and designed to be handled motorcycle speeds, so they can easily handle the life on ebike. Obviously I need to be careful with riding close to walls and barriers, but I had to do same with...
