how to set the time on a como 4

Excellent tip-- thanks. I had been putting off trying to change the time, just followed your instructions and worked perfectly. Nice.

Known Issues & Problems with Specialized Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I hear you. I was so frustrated... and my LBS basically said that's just the way it is, and maybe just never remove the battery (!). Anyway, just to be clear, lubricating might not universally work, but it sure fixed my situation. Went from impossible / and not being sure if it was really locked...

Known Issues & Problems with Specialized Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

At the top-- into the key slot, the latch, and the small metal button (suspect this was the main culprit, as it was not easy to push in / did not pop out well after being pushed in). Wiped off excess oil, and works very well now.

Known Issues & Problems with Specialized Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Slapping the battery in never worked on my 3.0, as it used to on my 2.0, so some of these comments got me to have a much closer inspection. I decided to completely lubricate all the components, and it now works much, much better (does not even require a slap). There is an audible click, which...

Known Issues & Problems with Specialized Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Thanks for your explanation-- and I might well have done the same based on my 2019 Vado 2.0. I can tell you that with my Vado 3.0 I can follow your instructions perfectly, the battery will seem to be locked in, and sometimes still jar loose on a bumpy ride. Frustrating, and potentially dangerous.

Known Issues & Problems with Specialized Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I hear you. My Vado 3 2020's battery is a real pain to put back in securely. I had a 2019 2.0 that was tricky, but nothing near as bad as the 3.0. At least with the 2.0, prying up with fingernails would allow me to ascertain if the battery was locked in... with the 3.0, several times I have very...

Loose Motor on Como 2.0 UPDATE: Cracked Frame (Vados too)

Wow-- two in a row, what a shame. But kudos to Specialized for stepping up and taking care of their customers. I got my 2019 Vado 2.0 replaced with a 2020 Vado 3.0, and, so far, zero issues. Good luck with your new bike.

Looking for feedback on Specialized 1.2E motor (Brose CB)

I had a 2019 Vado 2.0 with the more powerful motor, and I had some reservations when it needed to be replaced under warranty, and they offered the 2020 Vado 3.0, because I feared I would miss the extra torque. I can tell you that while, yes, there is a notable difference, I do not miss the power...

2019 : Our Rides in Words, Photos & Maps

Just back from a mini-holiday tasting the Kettle Valley Rail Trail, near Naramata, BC. Only saw 3 other people the entire day (50 plus kilometres). Such a gorgeous trail!

    Vado 2020 Odometer

Just to update on my own situation. The LBS software upgrade / reset did fix the time and date on my 2020 Vado 3.0, but with the time change, I note that I can not change the time! It is somehow hard set to the hour, and no matter what I do, it resets to that (right now, one hour ahead). I will...

Recommend a bike rack for ebike with fenders

I ran into the same issue when looking for a rack for my Vado 3.0, and wife's heavy steel frame with really large fenders. I finally found what in the USA is called Buzz Rack Approach 2, and in the rest of the world a Buzz Rack Scorpion 2. It is the best deal, hands down. Very solid. Rack locks...

Loose Motor on Como 2.0 UPDATE: Cracked Frame (Vados too)

That's excellent. They did the right thing. Congratulations, and enjoy.

I love the blue 2019 3.0 Vado color but 2020 4.0 seems much better...still...blue is my fav color...at what price?

I had the 2019 Vado 2.0 with the more powerful motor, and feared I would miss that when it was replace with the 3.0. Only on the very steepest hills do I even begin to miss the power, and for those it just means I generally shift down a little lower than I would have on the 2.0. As a plus, I...

Loose Motor on Como 2.0 UPDATE: Cracked Frame (Vados too)

Wow, one more. Sorry for you. But yes, so far everyone seems to get a good response from Specialized, Be aware that the 2020 Vado 3.0 has the 1.2E motor, offering reduced max. output and torque from your 2018, so you might want to either try one before accepting it as a replacement, or ask for a...

    Vado 2020 Odometer

I had this with the date and time on my new 2020 Turbo Vado 3.0. Required a software update / reinstall. Works perfectly now. Your LBS should be able to do this n/c.

VADO 3.0 confusion between year old bike and new bike

I'm just about to turn 64. As far as I know, we don't even have those classes in BC Canada, as all the bikes are limited to 32 kilometres per hour. That given, it is actually one of the things I prefer about the 1.2E, as when going full out you really feel the bike motor kicking in and out on...

VADO 3.0 confusion between year old bike and new bike

Having experience with both motors, the 1.2E in real life conditions is barely less powerful. Only on very steep hills do I note the difference, and those hills are still easily climbed with the 1.2E, by me anyway. If I was in poor condition, older, or if I had health issues, yes, I would go...

VADO 3.0 confusion between year old bike and new bike

One thing, even though I had a few issues with my Turbo Vado, those only increased my confidence in the company. They truly are amazing for standing behind their products / guarantee. Any bike may have issues, and then what you need is a company that quickly and enthusiastically backs up their...

    Bypassing governor?

I believe that will void your warranty, and, having relied several times (including have my bike completely replaced after 1600 kilometres) on the warranty, I personally would not do this.
