Motor provider seems to depend on the region. US has e-bikes with the Yamaha motor for 2021. @Saratoga Dave I guess you are buying into 'SyncDrive Pro', and not Yamaha, Shimano etc.? Yamaha has pretty good recognition in motorsports though, so I don't fully get it.

Can you disconnect the belt from chainring and cog, then try pedaling the crankset both directions and spin the wheel both directions? My thought is to identify the source of the sound first.
