ShareRoller - Quick and Dirty Electric Bikes

Not to be a Debby Downer, but it seems NYC is on a rampage. http://www.amny.com/transit/nypd-cracks-down-on-illegal-e-bikes-in-24-hour-blitz-1.13308779

    rear view mirrors ?

I just installed one of these two. Should be standard equipment imo. However, it also seems to make the Rover look less stealthy. (If that was ever a thing anyways)

48v Pansonic GA 17.5ah Black Killer Whale Ebike Pack from Luna Cycles

Way off topic, but we have an avocado plant at work that the tips are getting crispy. That's from over watering? I was thinking I needed to bring in some plant food.

48v Pansonic GA 17.5ah Black Killer Whale Ebike Pack from Luna Cycles

Why the new chainring? Isn't that the stock size? (42?) Looks awesome, any hard numbers on your range extension with the Luna battery? The stock battery fits in addition to the Luna battery? Did you wire in an XT 90 to the stock battery? Nice!

Flying with Electric Bike Batteries? Tips and Advice

Almost all batteries are welded with nickle strip conductors, and not able to come apart to individual cells. In fact, I would guess ALL are built that way. No other way to get a perfect connection every time. Furthermore, they are usually sealed up in a heat shrink brick. Again, the answer...

SOS! So much choice, so little I know - Seeking fat ebike

I did not see a fat bike rim on the dillenger link? If you are a motorcycle guy by nature, I would think you would want a luna or similar mid drive kit, bbshd. I've not installed one, and am an experienced mechanic, but it sure does not look difficult *provided* you get the specialized tools...

Anyone put a bigger chainring on their Rover?

Is it a cassette or a freewheel? I was under the impression it was a freewheel. Would the cassette tool be a help?

    new headlight

The light runs at battery voltage. I agree, the controller is likely no good. But I am stuck with it as it works fine with the OEM light. I'm sure they are not top brass emmiters. It is almost free. I read about it here...

Flying with Electric Bike Batteries? Tips and Advice

Since 160 watthour batteries would not work out well on a bike, it pretty much means it is not really an option.

    new headlight

So even though I ordered a relay, I was thinking too complicated, and yet more wiring up front. There is enough there already! (Love the Trek I looked at yesterday, very clean) If I had to run a wire, I might as well just stick a dang switch on the light. So I did. Ran some aircraft wire, which...

    New RadCity

Yep, squeeze the brake for mounting and dismounting!

    new headlight

Part of the issue is the original controller had NO ISSUES with this light at full power. The new one they sent me does even at half the power, but it works fine with the OEM light. But I can't really ask Rad to exchange it again for that, as it works fine with their light. A conundrum. I took...

    new headlight

It is pulling about 120 ma.. Maybe 6 watts with two emitters disconnected. I just spent the evening running a fused wire out of the battery rack and installing a switch on the light itself. Now I'll have two lights, the pusillanimous OEM light, and the shotgun. Pics to come. That battery rack...

Flying with Electric Bike Batteries? Tips and Advice

Batteries have already taken out 2 747's. And several other planes have had problems. As someone who flew freight for 22 years, I beg you please don't skirt the rules. Fires on an aircraft are the worst problem a crew will ever face. Shipping on Fedex (or any other air carrier) and willfully...
