Known Issues & Problems with Rad Power Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Only true issue was loose spokes. Rest was upgrades I did for giggles. Only have 250 miles.

    Maxxis Hookworms

I would think rounded so it will handle corner grip effectively. Flat like a car tire would be squirrelly handling in the corners. I got the cheapie tires that resemble motorcycle tires and honestly don't think you can improve on them but if you only ride pavement /hard pack. Less than fifty...

    HOTRAD Rover MODS Custom

Are you using a buck converter or a linear regulator to do that?

How many miles do you get on your RadRover/Radwagon?

Never level 5? Dang, I beat on mine like it owes me money sometimes! One of my favorite quick rides: I live a mile away from a park on a big lake. I work ver weird and varied hours. I'll grab a beer and pedal to my favorite bench seat on the shore at 2am. Full tilt the whole way there so the...

Anyone know of any Rad Power Discount codes?

I respectfully disagree. Different companies will use different metrics, different tests/ discharge curves, different equipment. Unless you have a known industry standard set of evaluations, the output numbers are meaningless between companies products. May be very valid data within one...

Anyone know of any Rad Power Discount codes?

The cycle limit on the batteries is pie in the sky stuff, too many variables to predict how long they will last or many cycles they will endure. Not the least of which is at what point do you consider it trash? 80% 50% capacity remaining? Could be the exact same cells between the two brands...

“Sorry, but we don't stock that part or model any more.”

This is a very valid concern, and one of the reasons I really like products (Like my Rad Power Rover) that use generic parts. The battery in particular on mine got damaged during shipping. Rad Power was great, sent me another right away, and I was in business. The best part was I got a new...

Anyone ever get the leather grips off?

I was going to experiment with the hydraulic brakes that I got on ebay, but got stymied when I went to take off the leather grips. Could barely spin them, and certainly could not pull them off. In addition, I wonder if I loosen them they will be annoying always loose? Anyway, whose done it? :-)

    hydraulic brakes

I bought some brakes on ebay (99 CENTS!) and the cutoff kit from Luna. If I had to do it again, I would just get the brakes complete from Luna. Not sure if/how I can get the cutoff kit to work. (Link Removed - No Longer Exists)

    Maxxis Hookworms

Well, after 30 mile on the new tires... If you use your Rover on pavement /hardpack exclusively, I can't recommend these tires (or Hookworms or...) strongly enough. Super smooth, and I swear, the bike is twice as efficient!

    BBS02 750w dissapointingly unreliable

More specifics on the battery! Type? BMS? Was the BMS charge circuit fuse protected? Was it fully charged, empty, some where in between? Actively charging? Just after a ride?

Added a fuel pump meter to the rover charger.

I *had* one before, back in my RC days (I may yet get back into it...) but ordered this meter so I can see exactly how much I put back into the battery after a ride. Same as filling up your gas tank after a drive, it gives a pretty accurate true portrayal of what your using after a ride. Best...

The rover has twice the power for bigger boys too.

    Narrowing down e-bike purchase

Another vote for the rover. Free shipping, $1500 to the door. Great for tubby folks like me. (270lb). The GEARED hub has 80N of force, so great acceleration. Excellent, almost overnight parts/warranty support also.

    Maxxis Hookworms

Installed the two cheapie from ebay tires. ($46 shipped for the pair) Maybe it is the soul patch on them, but I definitely like the look of the OEM tires better. The bike lost some of its soul, and so had to put some on the yellow patch of the tire.... Too crappy out for a ride report, but I bet...

    Cleaning Suggestions

What stand was that again? IIRC< you already posted a link to it, and I lost (!) it. I also remember you saying it had limitations with the weight of the rover?

The best is a volt gauge. Solder to a power plug and get the real story. (Link Removed - No Longer Exists)
