Battery Charging and Storage Options in the Heat!

I expect it shortens the lifespan of the battery from what I have read. Living in the blazing heat of the desert (Southern, AZ)is the reason I don't own an electric automobile. My kids live in Minneapolis MN and I, because of the extreme temps have advised them against an electric car. Will...

Battery Charging and Storage Options in the Heat!

Yep, that is a good question. I have no idea. It is my unqualified non engineer feeling I pulled out of thin air.. Actually if I think it isn't going to get over 85 I do leave it in the garage. I just love mechanical stuff and like to baby my machinery.

Battery Charging and Storage Options in the Heat!

Everybody has an opinion regarding the handling of ebike batteries. Generally lithium. It is not hard to find good reliable info on the proper use and care of lion batteries, be they in our bike, car or hand tools. Advice that is written by the manufacturer or battery engineers. Some like to...

How long do Giant batteries live?

Maybe someone can answer my question which is, why do electric auto batteries last so much loner then electric bicycle batteries? Some are warrantied for many years. My understanding is they have the same cells in them as our ebike batteries and usually get heavy daily use.

Bad battery on two year old JB RipCurrent

It could just be the battery is losing contact at the battery plug to the bike. If this happens the plug will arc and cause a burnt plug. I strapped my battery in very tightly so it could not move at all. I sold the RC but had I kept it I would have replaced the battery to bike plug with...

Canopy added to hybrid etrike/scooter for some weather protection

I too was in China and finally realized all the thousands and thousands and thousands of scooters there were electric. I began to watch and only saw two scooters that were obviously gasoline powered.

    Tube vs. Tubeless on ebikes

Almost 100 percent of the flats on cars are on rear tires for that reason. My experience is to stay away from new housing projects. The nearer you ride to the curb the better chance of getting a flat.

Brand new tire blew off the rim

This happened many years ago when I was about 16 years old. I lived in farm country and our neighbor had four of us neighbor boys over to help him putting up hay. As a reward he took us to the movies and on the way he stopped to put air in a tire while we sat in the car. We got back on the road...

    E bikes with fenders

As a kid I-we always removed the fenders. Jeez you had to look cool after all. Did we mind getting wet and dirty, NO we were kids. Today for the kind of riding I do the fenders stay on. The little weight they add doesn't amount to a hill of beans especially with an ebike.

Is it safe to freely use the throttle WHILE PEDALING on a mid drive?

Have you actually tested this or is it something you are theorizing about? You must have a lot of time to do all those oil changes not to say all the oil filters you use. Do you use the cheapest you can find on sale too?

    Install Voltage Meter on ebike

A little trick I have used over the years for testing and tapping into wires without damaging them is to carefully stick the wire with a small pin on the end of my tester wires to test for voltage etc. You will just have to prick the wire a bit to get contact with the copper in the wire to get...

    Vanmoof pauses sales

In my opinion there isn't much out there of higher quality that isn't proprietary. Every automobile, name brand motorcycle etc.is proprietary except the Chinese who buy various parts and pieces, put them together to make an item and put their brand name on it. It makes it cheaper in more ways...

What a can of worms you have opened. You don't but why not? By the way Stefan, what do you have on your bicycle, car ATV or what have you that you don't need???

    Power consumption

I have a Prodigy ST and am wondering if it anyone has discovered a power consumption readout that I haven't been able to find. I have had two bikes before and they both had an active watt consumption readout on the display and miss it on my Prodigy.
