    Electric Car thread

Maybe someone can answer my question regarding battery life in seldom used tools, automobiles, ebikes, snow blowers etc. The issue I have with electric equipment is the battery longevity. Say I intend to keep a car for 15-20 years and don't put many miles on it. I fear the battery pack will die...

Trying to decide on my first ebike

I went from a 4 in tire bike to a 2.3 in tire and must say it near jared my bones loose. I used to ride off road, sand pit and wherever I felt like going and my fat tire would take me. I went where others were carrying their bikes. I am getting too old for that now so sold it. As someone said it...

hill climbing? 750W hub versus 250W mid drive

My mid drive may climb steeper hills than my hub drive but at a lower gear which results in a slower bike speed. Keep bike speed and gear up and the 52v battery 750 w hub motor and it will take me up a hill faster and easier. If the wheel speed gets to slow though it looses torque.

    Shimano EP 801, throttle??

I tend to agree with you. I had two bikes with throttles and found it a useful help from time to time. They add merrily a few grams so it isn't a heavy item. Yes I miss a throttle on my new bike.

    2023 Prodigy ST

I just happen to have the Prodigy ST version and find your opinion to be quit negative which I believe is not warranted. I now have trouble free 1500 miles on my machine An have yet to find anything negative about it. Well, the walk mode could function better. I have never, never experienced any...

I didn't say it doesn't work it just does not work well. It surges and is jerky and unpredictable. This is my second one.

Turbo Como 4 IGH - WALK ASSIST MODE

Let's face it the Brose walk system is as close to useless as you can get. It is so hard to use I usually don't even try. This is too bad because the rest of the Brose system works superb.

    Longevity

I was just thinking about the cost of owning and riding an ebike and if it really was an economical choice.. If I pay $2000.00 dollars for a bike and I have 2000 miles on it so far it has cost me one dollar a mile. To get the cost down to a quarter of a dollar a mile I would have to get 8000...

    Lectric One

It makes sense if you think about it. If your gearbox is mid drive then you are multiplying the strain on the belt or chain when in a lower gear. Gearing and motor in the wheel and you do not any more strain on the chain than a normal bike.

    Electric Car thread

As a young person I too had VW autos. Most were the 36 horsepower ones. So noisy you had to yell to talk. No headwind maybe 60 MPH. Very little cabin heat if any. Set the valves real often. For a small car they didn't get very good gas mileage either, like 26 or 27. Yes the big V8's did about...

So what's the guess on the new Lectric ONE product coming March 12?

The bike has so many standard features as to be almost unbelievable. After watching the YouTube demo and his enthusiasm I am sure there are lots of people who are going to be clamoring to get one. If I didn't have a new bike I would certainly be seriouslyconsidering buying one. This is real...

    Negotiations on price

Be sincere about buying, offer a reasonable price and be ready to pay right now. If they don't negotiate the walk away is very powerful buying tactic. It is surprising how often the seller will call you back before you leave the premises The problem is we usually want the item more than the...

Should We Eliminate the Time Change?

" Adopting a standard, whether it's ST or DST, would eliminate all this confusion." This is so true. I talk to so many people who make a Such big deal out of DST. Hard to believe but some actually believe it gives us an extra hour of sunlight. They must be joking. How about China, My...

    Theft prevention/recovery?

Make sure you go through the police. I went to the place my AirTag said my stuff was and didn't know if I was going to get away without getting shot. The police told me to never do that again but to come to them for help.

Help finding a mid-drive, torque ebike with a throttle and natural pedal assist?

"I feel like you need to own a throttle equipped bike to really understand the benefits." I have had two bikes with throttles. The bike I now have has a Brose motor so no throttle. Do I miss the throttle, YES, there are times I do. You may not use it much but it is sort of like a car without a...

Total e-bike ban after a fatality in Key Biscayne, FLA

This is so true as of the last few years. We have polititions in our country who are very good at promoting that attitude. There are a lot who like to follow trends of famous and important people and this is one of them that sucks.
