Advice. Looking for an ebike to bring my 4.5 yo to school 1 mile away in NYC

I've been thinking about this for the last couple hours. I can't come up with a good solution. Between 2 tiny toddlers on an ebike, storage outside, tiny elevators, there's just too many things that can go wrong.

Purchasing advice 50+ miles per charge

Range, Speed, Price. Pick 2. I have an e6100 cruiser and if I put it in eco mode, it says I can get 76 miles range. But it's above your price point. I also have a Giant, and a Specialized. Same thing!

    full suspension e-bike - 29" standover height

Yeah, that sounds almost like my yellow bike! I have a 27 or 28" inseam, so this bike is a good fit. I started with a Gravity FX1.0 from directbikes.com. And it comes in black too! I changed the brakes to 180mm. then I added a Bafang 48V 750W kit. This thing flies... And it's very...

Maybe one day you can ride over to the western Polish border, and tell me about where my parents came from. Oh, probably not, it's like 25 hours by bike! I don't imagine you're ready for a 500km bike ride, one way! 🤣 🤣

How long are parts available for ebikes?

So I see multiple strategies... 1) build a diy bike, and keep a stash of spare parts 2) sell your bike before the warranty expires 3) keep it and hope it doesn't break, if it does put it out with the trash, and buy a new one. 4) buy a new ebike every year... if your stable is large enough...

    Help finding a suitable ebike

You mention mid motor 3 times, but your use of the terms are conflicting. Can you clarify which is mid and which is hub? It sounds like price is pretty important to you... check out the two videos in this thread: https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/top-ebikes-between-1000-and-1200.48266/

How long are parts available for ebikes?

It looks like Specialized has a 2 year warranty, or 300 charge cycles on the battery, whatever comes first. After that, you're on your own... parts? who knows. https://support.specialized.com/home/warranty/en/warranty-policies/global-warranty-policy So what does that really mean? Do I replace...

How long are parts available for ebikes?

Just curious if anyone know how long one can get replacement parts for an ebike from one of the big guys, like Specialized? I know in the auto industry they are required to make parts available for 7 years. I don't imagine there are any requirements in the ebike business. Have they suggested...
