Spec sheets for the MY21 explore series all list that they are now compatible with the range extender battery option. The Roam which looks like it uses the previous Explore frame is not. From what I see the Explore e+2 is Blue, Explore e+1 is Grey and Explore e+ 1 Pro is Rosewood.

Looking at some of the US online store ads it looks like it is 28 mph.

I think this is what they are talking about. Available in Canada on the Giant site and not a bad price, especially if you convert back to USD. Specs say it connects wirelessly. If they won’t ship to the US you could see if your LBS could order it for you...

I was in at my LBS today and they had one on the floor. Very nice bike and surprisingly light I thought.

MY21 Explore e+2 has the 500Wh battery and the piggy back option. $500 more than the MY20 Explore e+4. With full fenders, rack, lights, 500Wh battery, bottle cage mounting point, 180mm discs front and back and probably a few more things it seems to be well worth considering it.

I ordered a 2021 Giant Explore e+ 1 and a 2021 Giant Amiti e+ 2 in August. Latest update is that the Explore is due late October and the Amiti is due late January. According to LBS Giant has 2021 frames built but delay is blamed on shortage of Shimano parts.

My LBS has one in stock at $2,699 Canadian. He said that this is replacing the lower end Explore as an entry level model and that Explore will still be available as a higher spec line.
