Trace EXC First 300 miles - initial thoughts

I had this on both Trace Exc and E3 Dash it was BB sensor ( bottom bracket torque sensor) on both. The tech said on the Trace Exc wires were shorting as reason why it worked OK sometimes but not other times you can self diagnose with Onboard Diagnostic...

Any one get so frustrated they switched back to a non E-Bike?

I know more about the bikes then the dealer if Currie Technologies would let me get the replacement parts things would be smother and would not take 90 days to repair I had to print dealer support pages to show them how to repair. I also think they should extend warranty by the 90 days it was in...

Any one get so frustrated they switched back to a non E-Bike?

Have not been to Small Planet EBikes yet as there web site prices are also above most manufacturers list price 2016 E3 dash mid-drive $400 more than IZIP USA web price. I thought they may be pompous about there prices also and I don't even like to pay List price let alone pay more than list.

Any one get so frustrated they switched back to a non E-Bike?

Looked into buying E-bike with mid-drive as I was thinking less trouble but Richardson Bike Mart only shop near me with them in stock was $500 over manufacturer listed retail price as trouble with so much warranty work they need to get top dollar to deal with E-bikes so that was also frustrating.

I have about 200 miles so far on DB Trace EXC and it has been the super fun to ride and fast. It is now hard to ride my Trek FX non-electric bike as DB fun level is so much higher. No problems so far other than the looks I get from carbon frame bikers as I zip buy them in work clothes. I added...

    Trace EXC Range

In flat Texas I am getting close to advertised I did easy 20 miles at between 15-22 mph pace (L-2) and still had 1/2 battery left but if I put it on L-4 full power and ride hard and off road you can eat up the battery
