    FS Watt Wagons

Right that was my understanding too, the Archon is more efficient than the stock Bafang but can also handle more power also being more smooth and responsive in torque sensing, so I definitely want a Archon. However it sounds like the 750w X1 is more efficient than the 2300w X1 this is what I am...

    FS Watt Wagons

Hmm guess Im still not getting it, a Prius and a V8 have different engines, different mechanical components, the V8 has much more displacement and therefore more pumping losses among other things, therefore it is inherently less efficient than the smaller Prius motor even if given the same...

    FS Watt Wagons

So does that just mean the assist levels are different? This makes sense in that say you have 5 levels like my current bike, level 5 is 750w on the 750w version while level 5 is 2300w on the 2300w, so if I want similar Whr/mile on the 2300 I would need to keep it on a lower assist level then the...

    FS Watt Wagons

Yes I am usually in the 15-20 Wh/mile range, 20 is a "fun" ride on flats where I don't hold back or care about wind etc and might do long sections 25mph+. It does prompt me to ask if I did go with a 2300 option does that mean it is less efficient at same speed than the 750? I guess I assumed...

    FS Watt Wagons

But are plus size that much better? Get plenty of range with my current fat tire, but thats because it has a huge battery, love how it can go over anything and be comfortable on the road. My butt wears out at about 40 miles so a solid 50 is good, and full suspension should help with comfort even...

    FS Watt Wagons

Would be interested to know how efficient a Archon Bafang Mid-drive vs a 750w Bafang Rear Hub I have now for the same power output, have any idea? I know the stock Bafang mid drive is not know for its efficiency.

    FS Watt Wagons

Thanks pushkar, Yes I am very aware of range variance based on conditions, I typically do flat paved 20-40 mile rides at around 20mph, but I do like to take it trail riding and when camping to the mountains etc. so looking for a bike that an do it all :), really like what I am seeing with...

    FS Watt Wagons

Any idea on the range for the Hydra? Also any opinion on the plus vs fat tire? Was a little surprised the fat tire option was extra, making me think I would be ok with the plus size although I do like my current fat tire ebike.

    FS Watt Wagons

Interested to know too would be hard to step down from my 52v 19.2ah I have now, promised myself I wouldn't go below 1 kWh on next bike, especially since I typically only do a 85% charge.

    Watt Wagon direct competitors?

I have both full suspension mountain bikes and more recently a Juiced Ripcurrent S with Kinekt Seatpost. The hardtail with 4" fat tires and good suspension seat post falls pretty short of the comfort of a full suspension. The Kinekt is by far the best suspension seat post I have tried and makes...

    Test ride on a Bikonit MD1000 (Mid-Drive) and HD 750 (Hub-Drive)

By all accounts its not snake oil. The controller is made by a German company Innotrace and also found in Excess bikes among others. You can read testimonials in both Watts Wagons and Frey forums here and elsewhere. Watts Wagons just happens to be the sole US distributor of the controller.

    Test ride on a Bikonit MD1000 (Mid-Drive) and HD 750 (Hub-Drive)

Watt Wagons replaces the controller with a different one they call Archon X1, not just a software change. The new controller is much more efficient and smooth, not a cheap upgrade and you have to send your motor to them to swap controllers, but sounds like its a big step up from the stock...

Is it possible to get higher than a 2A charger?

Remember charge rate is based on battery capacity. 1c charge rate is charging the battery in 1 hour which would equal the amp hour capacity of the battery. 0.5c would be a two hour charge rate or half the amp-hour capacity. A Juiced 19.2 ah battery has a 9.6 amp 0.5c charge rate while a 13ah...

Is it possible to get higher than a 2A charger?

The 19.2ah Juiced batteries have cells rated for 1c charging which would be 19.2 amps, they recommend 0.5c for normal charge rate which is almost 10 amps, 8 amps is no issue.

Is it possible to get higher than a 2A charger?

Yes the Grin charger is the gold standard and does 8 amps, it also can do less than 100% charge to prolong the pack life. A cheaper option is the 5 amp luna charger. And Juiced now sells a 4 amp charger too.

CCX 52V-19.2Ah BATTERY "Guard Voltage" & Other ANOMALIES"

I wouldn't call them marketing names its a convenient name that conveys approximate voltage instead of having to remember what 14 x 2.8-4.2 is. Marketing would be what Dewalt does which is call their 5s pack a 20v while everyone else agrees 5s is 18v nominally. Capacity is based on the cells...

CCX 52V-19.2Ah BATTERY "Guard Voltage" & Other ANOMALIES"

The voltage is just the nominal voltage which is just the agreed upon name (hence nominal) usually close to the average but not necessarily just like 12v and 120v are not exactly those voltages. I am not sure of of the history of why a 14s lithium pack is called 52v it doesn't seem to be related...

CCX 52V-19.2Ah BATTERY "Guard Voltage" & Other ANOMALIES"

Sorry I meant charger not controller. My charger like the one in the video was putting out over 59 volts so I cracked it open and turned the adjustment screw until it read 58.8. Looks like these Juiced controller might actually come set a little high from the factory. They are definitely not set...

CCX 52V-19.2Ah BATTERY "Guard Voltage" & Other ANOMALIES"

Note I also just adjusted my controller down from 59.1 volts to 58.8v it was exactly the same as the video, very easy. I plan on getting a Grin in the future, for now I just try to manually under charge it most of the time. It is annoying that the display seems to read a volt low, wish there...

CCX 52V-19.2Ah BATTERY "Guard Voltage" & Other ANOMALIES"

Sometimes coincidences are just coincidences. Think about what you are proposing, somehow juiced is boosting the voltage by a volt to a fool a cheap charger into shutting off earlier, not sure if you realize how difficult it is to go up in voltage like that from a lower source that is also...
