Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

My old 1st gen 2015 Specialized Turbo had the same issue. I ended up drilling a hole in the Aluminum tube of the suspended seatposts I used on that bike. O routed the seat based tail light wire through the hole. Dont think this would work for a carbon post.

Vado SL and Vado SL 2 assist levels

Stefan, I took a 36 mile ride yesterday and was able to test out new assist settings. My prior settings were 30/55, 50/75, 70/100 based on the incorrect assumption that these were assist "ranges" rather than actual Ease/Maxlevel settings. I found that ECO assist didn't feel a whole lot...

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

I purchased a Specialized CG-R FACT carbon seatpost. It helps take up just a bit of the road vibration.. I had various "sprung" seatposts on my prior e-bike, but found them too "bouncy" at higher cadence rates. When combined with my Selle Anatomica leather seat, I find the CG-R to be more...

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

I neglected to mention that I have a carbon handlebar, carbon seatpost, and lighter Bontrager 700x38 tires that weigh in at 450g each. So comparing my 38 lbs bike with the Vado SL 2 6.0 EQ takes similar things (except cranks) into account.

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

The actual dry weight of my Vado SL 5.0 EQ (size L) is about 38 lbs. The actual weight of two recently tested Vado SL 2 6.0 EQ's (size L) was 41 lbs. (Note, the specs for size M are 36.5 lbs and 39.7 lbs respectively) These measurements suggest the actual difference between SL and SL 2 is around...

Vado SL and Vado SL 2 assist levels

Ah, ha! Thank you Stefan. So, what I should do is tinker with this some more on my current VADO SL. I would like to make SPORT mode more useful for me and reduce my dependence on TURBO in my current bike. My thinking, is to set my current bike at something like: EASE settings: ECO = 40%...

Vado SL and Vado SL 2 assist levels

I believe I read somewhere that in addition to the 240W/35Nm rating of the SL 1.1 motor vs the 320W/50Nm rating of the SL 1.2 motor, there is a difference in the "rider multiplier" assist levels. I know that the "multiplier" value for SL 1.1 is 1.8X and I think that I read that it is 2.1X for...

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

I regeared my SL 5.0 EQ with a 10-52T cassette and a 46T chainring just so I could maintain 28mph on slight descents in 11th gear at a cadence of around 95 rpm. This way I can hit 32-33 mph still pedaling at a cadence under 100 rpm in 12th gear. While I am a cardiac compromised 73 year old, I...

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

There is no question to me that I could use the extra power. I often ride with my daughter who is a "16-18mph" rider. I find myself having to use Turbo mode to be able to stay with her on long gradual uphills where she can maintain a faster pace than I can in Sport mode. Also, like many, I use...

Vado SL 2 Carbon LTD premiered today!

Great summary above. My Vado SL 5.0 EQ (size L) weighs just about 38 lbs dry with 46T Wolf Tooth aluminum chain ring, 3 bottle racks, heavy leather saddle, carbon seatpost, carbon handlebars, and extra handlebar mounts for flashing headlight and Garmin.. In my case that is probably just slightly...

    Specialized App - missing feature

I started a long thread about this very issue. Yes it was available on Mission Control and not on the Specialized App. In quite a number of ways that I care about, the SA is less functional.

Turbo Creo 2 Comp E5 (aluminum) is out, is a Vado SL 2 next?

IF the Turbo Creo 2 Comp E5 had a carbon fork at the $4500 price, I would sell my 2022 Vado SL 5.0 EQ in a heartbeat and get the Creo 2. I would swap drivetrains (XD Driver, 10-52 GX1275 cassette, and Wolf Tooth 46t chain ring) on to the Creo. I would also probably move the fenders and rack from...

Turbo Creo 2 Comp E5 (aluminum) is out, is a Vado SL 2 next?

I have a Turbo Vado SL 5.0 EQ (the later SRAM version). The weight at 33+ lbs is around 2 lbs less than my Vado Sl with frame/fenders but otherwise similarly equipped. Interesting possibility.

Turbo Vado SL 5.0 and Specialized App - Range Extender

Mine is a 2022 which came with Mastermind. (which I like a lot). BTW, I really appreciate your replies. In the past I have been pretty active here, but I had been debilitatingly sick for most of the last 6+ months with a variety of ailments (some serious). I am well again and today was my first...

Turbo Vado SL 5.0 and Specialized App - Range Extender

I have spent over an hour with Specialized Support on this and other topics...here is some additional feedback.... The support tech showed me where use RE first was (as you all have so kindly done) No detailed charge level in the APP for RE's (this was in MC) You can no longer read serial...

Turbo Vado SL 5.0 and Specialized App - Range Extender

Hi all, while this may have been discussed elsewhere, I did not see it on my search of the forum. My problem: I made the mistake of believing Specialized back in March when they said Mission Control would be disabled at the end of March and I had to switch over to the new Specialized App. I...

Upgrading Eagle NX cassette to Eagle XX1 on Vado SL 5.0 Eq: Freehub compatibility question...

Maybe not the best price/performance, but I didn't use the XG-1299 or XG-1295. I used the XG-1275 10-52T cassette @$170, the XD driver @$70 and the Wolf Tooth 46T @$90 to get the exact gearing my body needs. My total investment was $330. Note that I went from 44/11 (4:1) to 46/10 (4.6:1) on the...

Upgrading Eagle NX cassette to Eagle XX1 on Vado SL 5.0 Eq: Freehub compatibility question...

I did this upgrade on my 2022 Vado SL 5.0 EQ. I checked with my local Specialized dealer in Nashua, NH and they told me that there is an XD driver replacement freehub for the stock wheel that is a direct replacement for the HG freehub. I think I paid around $70 for this back in January 2023...

    Vado SL's - actual weights

An update...I have resurrected an old under seat bag for spare inner tube, tire levers, Co2 bottles, inflater, and universal tool. This saves over 4 lbs compared with my Racktime trunk bag. I also removed the kick stand. My dry weight is now 37 lbs instead of 38 lbs, Weight with seat bag, extra...

Two different Turbo Vado SL 5.0s?!

For me, the model year 2022 SL 5.0 EQ with SRAM GX is much preferable. In addition to the Mastermind TCU (which is VERY useful), it provides a much wider range 12 speed drivetrain with its 11-50T NX cassette. I upgraded mine to the newer XD drive freehub and the 10-52T GX cassette. I also...
