I’ll be fitting these soon. The only ones I could find that are ebike rated and a perfect match for the Vado tyre size. They sound like a fantastic tyre and the reviews are top notch.

Does seem to be an inherent problem with weak spokes on these bikes. Wonder if I had dented the rim if they would have offered me an entire new wheel under warranty. Probably not. Hopefully the new one will last!

That's really interesting. Considering how identical the 4&5 are, why add more spokes to the 5 unless admitting there isn't enough on the old model? Sadly I can't see that has happened with the UK spec ones. There is a different brand of spokes on the 5 but still the same amount as the 4.

Unique and RonV - I don't suppose you can share exactly what Specialized told you about the App coming out in February? As usual, Specialized UK have their fingers in their ears! Totally agree with you FancyPants, love my bike but their integrity is severely damaged!

I think Specialized is big and rich enough to figure a way around this if they really tried. It’s hard to miss something we’ve never had but the fact that we SHOULD have had it and bought the bikes on the basis it would be available is unforgivable.

I’d only done 100 miles! It happened so early on that I do believe it was just bedding in rather than a long term build quality issue.

I know I’m a bit late to this party (just joined the site today) but that’s very interesting. The only fault I’ve had so far with my Vado 4.0 has been broken rear spokes. All fixed fuss free under warranty but clearly something to keep an eye out on.....

Do it! I have been extremely impressed with my Turbo Vado 4.0. The only fault bizarrely was some of the rear spokes coming loose which was fixed under warranty. The bike looks amazing. Most people do a double take and don’t initially realise it’s an ebike at all which I love. That is also helped...
