    New Voltbike Yukon 750 spotted

@america94 I believe the park tool will fit that shimano Freewheel. Here are some pics of the motor taken apart showing the plastic gears (looks like a PA66 material or similar). I had to fix another puncture in the rear tire so I decided to take a look while I had the rear wheel removed.

2016 Voltbike Mariner - My Honest Review

Anyone know if the Juice batteries are actually software/firmware locked to only Juiced bikes? Both the video and their website says that they only work on their bikes. Not sure how that's possible. Yukon uses the same Dorado plus case so wondering if I could purchase the larger Amp hour battery...

    New Voltbike Yukon 750 spotted

Thanks for the compliments! Took some time but I am definitely happy with the results. I used Park Tool Freewheel Remover FR-1.3 to remove the freewheel. It has the center cut out so that the motor cable and axle can slide through the middle. Here is a picture of it from a top viewish: Fit...

    New Voltbike Yukon 750 spotted

Okay thanks for the info. I can reach 27mph without wind on flat with WOT. Upgrading the freewheel to a smaller tooth count really helps at that speed to gain additional speed and workout :)

    New Voltbike Yukon 750 spotted

Without injecting field weakening current from the phaserunner controller, no way I get there. I am definitely pushing the motor beyond its upper RPM limit and pushing my fitness limits as well to get to 33mph :) I can easily cruise around 28-29mph without breathing too hard. 11T-30T freewheel...

Known Issues & Problems with Voltbike Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

@gcoop This is what I was able to decipher when I overhauled my 750 limited. I swapped some of my connectors so your stock controller may look a slightly different. I called out the connectors I swapped. Hopefully this helps. Please note that this mapping is from my November 2016 model of the...

    New Voltbike Yukon 750 spotted

Thanks @Denis Shelston. Well worth it for the performance I want. Good catch on the throttle. I always wanted to move the throttle to the left since the shifter is on the right. There was a time frame when I only had the phaserunner connected and connected the throttle directly to it. The...

    New Voltbike Yukon 750 spotted

@Bsbs I decided to not exhaust any more energy on removing the speed limit on my Yukon and went with an overhaul of the power electronics all together. I have not posted in a while and have been pretty busy DIYing. Here is my new setup: Phaserunner by Grin Technologies (Dimensions 99mm x 40mm...

    A Battery Standard?

Bicycles are such a niche market, ebikes specifically so I do not see a "standard" on the horizon any time soon. I see positives and negatives for it so I'm really not for or against the idea. Considering the portable electronics industry as a data point has not gone that route and probably...

    A Battery Standard?

Yes exactly! I would be interested in the 17.4Ah since that would fit on my eBike that uses the same Reention form-factor. The 21Ah seems too tall for the location of the downtube on my eBike and would interfere with the angled top tube.

    A Battery Standard?

@Thomas Jaszewski Downtube meaning the part welded to the angled part of the frame where the Reention style batteries attach.

    A Battery Standard?

Hi @Tora Harris , based on the link you provided is it correct to say Juiced bikes use the Dorado -ID-1-PLUS form-factor? If so, I know on your website it states that the batteries are exclusive to Juiced bikes only. But if they are "Reention shells" what prohibits someone from buying one of...

    New Voltbike Yukon 750 spotted

Hi @america94, no problem asking questions. I did not find anything about your OE controller. Identifying the wires can be tricky since there is not a standard and there are so many variants of controllers out there. If Teo will not give you the schematic you can try my approach for my swap by...

    New Voltbike Yukon 750 spotted

Thanks @SuperGoop It's in my DNA to tinker. I'll try to keep updating as I tinker some more. When the day comes that the cells want to retire I would like to take a look at replacing them with some 2170 cells that aren't available for public purchase :) If the volume does not lend itself well...

    New Voltbike Yukon 750 spotted

Quick update, I had the wrong resistor value (0.001Ohm instead of 0.002Ohm). I thought that I ordered the correct value but I didn't. Fortunately I ordered 2 resistors so I put them in series to get the correct value and all is well. No cut outs anymore! I need to place a thermocouple on the...

    New Voltbike Yukon 750 spotted

For commuting I definitely like the faster/jackrabbit starts so that I can beat the road bikes at the traffic lights since they take a little time to getting up to full speed. I also travel up some hills that have lights or stop signs so I need a little more torque to get going from rest. I...

    New Voltbike Yukon 750 spotted

@SuperGoop Yes I thought the same about the low voltage cutoff by the controller but my battery was fully charged when the motor cut out so I'm not sure what was going on. I will keep monitoring the performance to see if the motor starts to cut out again.

    New Voltbike Yukon 750 spotted

Nice work @SuperGoop as usual! Great info on the add-ons. I definitely would like to add the ability to record my rides. Since I haven't posted in a while here is an update to my current sense resistor swap. It was successful but had some temporary set backs. Here are some pics of the...

    New Voltbike Yukon 750 spotted

@SuperGoop no worries, just giving back to the forum. Hopefully others may feel the urge to look around as well and build upon it. Regarding the 500W limit, I would bet the controller is programmed to max out at 10-12A no matter the parameter setting change. Especially since the current sense...

    New Voltbike Yukon 750 spotted

I have not posted in a little while but I took at the controller again and noticed the current sense resistor looks I have been pushing it pretty hard (pretty brown already). I looked up the R002 and it is 1W, which means it really can only handle 10A of continuous current without dissipating...
