    Fahrer Akku Battery Cover

That's nuts. I ended up making one myself and it cost maybe $20-$30 US if I remember right.. I think using 4mm neoprene... and it fit the bike well.

    NCM Throttle Lever Question

If you tap it just a little bit it'll keep the power low but it seems to quickly go up to full when you press it a little more. It's not super useful as a partial though because the travel distance of it to full is pretty small - that combined with bumps on the road make it hard to really hold...

    Minimum Tire Width

FYI just wanted to follow up. I put the narrow Continental Contact Plus Travel tires on. They are solid.. unfortunately a bit too much. I've put about 100 miles on them so far. Bottom line is they don't seem to roll as well as the Smart Sam tires, even with the slicker tread. I was well aware...

    Peak died (short in controller?)

For sure! This is great info. I'm thinking maybe a project for next winter maybe, so if I end up with down time it doesn't cut into my riding time too much. I have a friend with a Juiced bike and it has a Bafang setup and it's a lot smoother like you say you found with yours now. It would be...

    Peak died (short in controller?)

This is a great summary! Thanks very much! So you're saying the Das Kit motor you have is really Bafang, so you were able to save the motor and change out the remaining electronics? Can't stress enough how helpful what you wrote here is. I hope I won't have to do any significant work to the bike...

    Peak died (short in controller?)

Out of curiosity, did you get this straightened out? I have an NCM Moscow Plus, which is really similar and I'm just wondering what this ended up being and what you did in case I run into this down the road. The controller down near the bottom of the bike has always made me nervous.

    Tires don't hold pressure long!

Spot on. About once a week with the ebike. I love my road bike but I hate how it needs air every time I take it out!

Questions about the Spanninga Kendo light that comes with the NCM rear rack

The light is not that bright, but it's something and it looks good. I use it by itself around sunset/dusk. Unless you're in a really lit up area, like maybe right in a city, I think it's too weak to use as the your only light when it is dark. I bought the Xanes DL06 as my primary light. It's...

What is different about the das-kit motors as opposed to bafang.

I could be totally wrong here, but whatever it is, I think it is more durable than Bafang. I haven't read of any Das Kit motor failure here, or in the Magnum forums. Bafang I have. Then again Bafang is a larger company so more opportunity for one or two to go bad. Either way, isn't the bike and...

    Cruiser/Hybrid Conversion Thoughts

That's promising about the frames. I'm a little concerned about this (picture attached) that I found though. Everything seems tight, but I was going to have someone weld/braze it to be safe. This is where the seat stay goes into the dropout.

    Cruiser/Hybrid Conversion Thoughts

Hi folks. Happy ebiker here. I own an NCM that I am super happy with. Been tweaking it and in doing so decided it would be fun to build an ebike. It would be fun to be able to bike with my girlfriend so I'm building one that is more her style. Here's the scenario: I'm doing this on the cheap...

    Minimum Tire Width

Thanks folks! I'm not one to solicit advice and then go against it, but the day after I posted, before the responses, I just decided to bite the bullet and grab a pair because they were discounted quite a bit. I'll see how they do and worst case I'll sell them and go up another 5mm. I...

    Moscow + crank vibration

I had the exact same problem. I think I fixed it but changing the chain. I did that and noticed, on the stand, there seems to be less vibration. There is still some at the highest gears, but I also run my back tire with slime so that could be causing things to be slightly out of balance. I only...

    Minimum Tire Width

Well - I see a thread about maximum tire size, so how about one about minimum tire size. The minimum tire size for these rims is 1.5" and 100 PSI. I was looking at picking up some 700x42 lower rolling resistance tires (Continental Contact Plus Travel), which is about 1.65". Does anyone else...

NCM Moscow+ from 3x8 to 1x10 and it is awesome!

I'm a little surprised these bikes put much strain on the chains. Since these are hub drive, they should only be strained by as much work as you are putting into pedaling. Unless you're really pushing, above and beyond what the assist wants to set the bike speed at, I wouldn't expect much wear...

NCM Moscow+ from 3x8 to 1x10 and it is awesome!

Alright, well I'm glad it's not just me. I might start using the ceramic lube and see if that holds up better since it shouldn't attract as much dirt.

NCM Moscow+ from 3x8 to 1x10 and it is awesome!

Finished this up tonight after a few delays.. had to order a few tools I didn't have. And the chain was stretched pretty good (1/16-1/8") so I ordered that too. Only tested it out on the bike stand since the roads are covered in snow, but it looks good and seems to work well, although there's...

NCM Moscow+ from 3x8 to 1x10 and it is awesome!

Great. Thank you. I ended up ordering the Park Tool CWP-7. Got some blue lock tight for the bolts and grease for the crankset. Should be good to go with this in a few days!

    Moscow + fork

So I can't help too much here but I looked into this real quickly once and found this: https://www.srsuntour.us/pages/upgrade-program You may already be aware of it, but if not, it could save you some decent money... at least based on what I've read.

NCM Moscow+ from 3x8 to 1x10 and it is awesome!

So I'm finally getting around to do this. I bought an inexpensive narrow wide 42T (Dekas) so I'll see how that goes for now. I've been googling around and watching some youtube videos to try to see what I'm getting myself into since I haven't done this before. Do you know if I am going to need a...
