    Upgrade charger (2018)

2018 Radcity Rad Power Bikes Owner's Manual: Page 15 - "Do not charge the battery with any other chargers then (sic) what was originally supplied with your Rad Power Bike or a charger purchased directly from Rad Power Bikes for use with your specific bike serial number, as approved by Rad Power...

    Upgrade charger (2018)

The sensing comes from you...if you end a ride two bars down, then you know that's going to take in excess of three hours to recharge. So, dial in two hours on the timer and you'll be in the neighborhood of 80% charge. Top it off with another charge just before riding and you'll be good. I just...

Anyone riding on a Brooks saddle?

27 miles today on the new B17...all in the saddle, except standing up on the pedals a few times. It felt hard, but not painful. Also easy to move fore and aft a bit for new positions..but actually, I didn't pay attention to it all that much...it worked as it should. 9/19 - 33 miles...

    My handlebars keep coming loose

Just wiggle and push in on the left side as you are tightening...it will seat.

    Battery best practices

Got the same one and I do just the same...get it up to 80%, then top it off just before riding. It's worth noting: 1. We battery types are a subset, the vast majority is not concerned, and Rad Bikes simply says...Around 800 cycles..use, recharge. 2. Since this thread started, the Samsung 35E...

Anyone riding on a Brooks saddle?

There was a time, on my first Brooks and Gitane, when I was in my twenties, when I'd head out on a Saturday morning around 6a.m. and go around one of the Finger Lakes...about 100 mi., and be home by noon or so, sore, but never off the bike, just standing in the pedals here and there. Sunday, I'd...

    Battery best practices

With a ten dollar timer, you can precharge back to 80% whenever, then go to 100 % just before riding...the battery just doesn't want to sit for any time outside of the 20-80% optimum range. Elsewhere here is a definitive battery tutorial, which I was lucky to find and read...wonder just where...

    non-zero, powered-off battery voltage???

There's also voltage in the bike with the battery removed.

    My handlebars keep coming loose

There's a ratchet on the left side that has to be fully seated...I've had it happen twice when changing stem angle...just make sure both sides are seated before tightening. Carry tools...much too dangerous to ride if loose.

Actually, ebikes will get you much LESS exercise

The shop you are worried about is the shop that you want to be there when you need it. They will happily work on your bike, just not for free. I have no guilt bringing in my bike for questions, because I'm also spending money there. Tools, helmet, accessories, tubes, rim tape...

The saddle thread: Cloud 9 sizes and images on page three

Just got my new B17 Imperial in...been thirty or forty years since I had a Brooks. I'll break it in the Brooks way, thanks...with Proofide. Brooks literature cautions several times against wetting the leather...I'll heed their recommendations, as I did before...the old saddle had tens of...

Anyone riding on a Brooks saddle?

Just got in my B17 Imperial, and a short five mile ride led me to remember my first Brooks, thirty or more years ago...Was it comfortable? No, but not as uncomfortable as my current try, one for whom I had to put on a gel pad almost immediately. Money wasted. $50. Here's a handmade item...

Ebike counting ... how many today?

I believe that's changed recently for class 2 at least, else Burt's Bikes, which has several stores in Bflo, wouldn't be loaded with them. So far, in a month of riding, I've only seen one, but the trails and paths might be full of them for all I know, since I bike where the big things are.

    very long monthly commute

Two lane country roads are my preference...a mirror used every few seconds helps, as I ride the road, not the shoulder. These days, I use three flashing LED lights, two red rear and one white front, and make sure I'm dressed visibly, including white helmet. I highly recommend John Forrester's...

Actually, ebikes will get you much LESS exercise

Actually, if you choose right and get a bike with standard components, there's little on nothing a local bike store can't fix if you can't. Money doesn't come easy here, yet with a good deal of research, I (in NY) bought a bike (with test rides I only read about) from a direct manufacturer in...

    very long monthly commute

My big worry would be the unwieldy high mounted weight of your axe, perhaps comparable to a child, which would be a worry for safety. You certainly deserve a pleasant bike trip, not an ordeal. The train might accommodate a folding ebike, like a Rad Mini...
